I bought and played Mass Effect 2 for the money I got on my birthday on 5th of March.. And I finished it once and it is DAMN AWESOME! :D I played with my character from Mass Effect 1, Malcore Shepard and I was mostly Paragon then and saved the council. I remained heavily Paragon in Mass Effect 2 and made love with Tali in the game. ;) I really like it how you can customize the N7 with diffrent parts, colors and patterns, which is very very neat. Plus you can choose diffrent off-duty uniforms too. The combat is fast-paced and you need to be on your toes to survive, especially in hardcore as the enemies hit HARD and are very accurate. The only thing that quirks me is the lack of diffrent armors and weapons you can get in the game. Mass Effect (1) had alot of armor, weapons and such which you could give to your character and your teammates. In Mass Effect 2, you only have two skins per teammember and you cannot give them armors, bio-amps or omni-tools. Shepard can have diffrent armors, but unfortunally most are DLC or Pre-order only and the Blood Dragon armor can only be gotten if you buy Dragon Age: Origins. Shame. :P But the armors, if you do get them, are really cool-looking and make up for the lack of armors, the weapons are very well made too and I like the heavy weapons.. it adds a new dimension to combat. Wait untill you get Mr. Cain, the heavy weapon who deliver a nuclear intro. XD I one shotted a large Geth Colossus (a walking tank of sorts employed by Geth) in ONE shot. Unfortunally you must have atleast 100 units of heavy weapons ammo in order to fire it. But totally worth saving up the ammo. Fire it into a room of enemies or into a large tank and you wipe them out guaranteed. And the effects are just... awesome, particularily when the Cain unleashes it's power and the shot hits something. XD But it's really good... some people say that most of the story is just about getting people for a suicide mission. But honestly they miss the whole picture. The reaper threat is unlike what they can percieve and the suicide mission is a REAL suicide mission unless you are prepared for it. Otherwise..... Illidan: "You are not prepared!" Yep... You DONT wanna prove Illidan right in this case. :P Also the story-line itself is really good and you get to know alot about the ones you recruit. I have my favorites from Mass Effect 1 and I kept them alive... Wrex, Garrus... Tali were my favorites. Shame that Wrex couldn't join, but I was glad to see him alive. Garrus he joined me later on, Tali aswell. The new Krogan squadmember is Grunt, a Krogan who was bio-engineered by Dr. Okeer. I just love Mordin, he's so funny at times. He's the salarian scientist whom you recruit first of all, since he is the one who ensure you can research stuff. :P I am currently going Hardcore mode of it and then im gonna go Insanity. IM so going to play Mass Effect 2 alot more and Mass Effect 1 to get all the achivements done... plus so I got a save file of each class in ME1. A few im gonna go renegade with. :P Malcore Shepard is very much Paragon, as I would be. |
