This is totally random but I wanted to start a thread for movies coming out in theatres this summer. Because we all know that lots comes out and it's hard to sift through it to find something good to watch.

I am biased right now as I'm still on some weird Star Trek-high where I won't shut up about it. Refer to my livejournal for more details.

That being said, what else are you looking forward to/have you enjoyed?

http://www.movie-moron.com/?p=906 has a pretty good list of what's coming.

I am personally waiting impatiently for the Harry Potter movie. Just because even though it's not a very good retelling of the books.. there is a lot of potential for prettiness in the next couple movies.

Otherwise, a quick scan of the list leaves me with not much else to look forward to. The GI Joe movie will be very... explode-y I think. But I'm not sure what else. xD

So... discuss?

Definately Harry Potter. Even though yes, not very accurate, the special effects are pretty amazing.

I'm also looking forward to the Transformers movie. I really enjoyed the first one, and the second one looks to be just as good. Besides, who doesn't love Bumblebee??

Other than that... Year One looks like it'll be really funny, but pretty dumb too. I can't help but laugh at the commercials though.

Amen to Transformers 2. Going to go with my friends to the opening viewing at the Odyssey again.

v_v I feel like I should watch the first Transformers movie before even trying to get excited about the second. The trailers definitely did look shiny though

I keep meaning to see the first Transformers...I dunno how I'll get to though. I don't really get much of a chance to watch movies.

Wow, don't think I've seen that much Zachary Quinto in one place before. And didn't realize he was older than I am, hmm... I was partial to Karl Urban, his McCoy was dead on and he must've had to ride a loooooong way from Rohan to get there.

I also saw Up (in 3D, wooooooo) when it came out, and it was really good. The movie was really good too.

Didn't see anything else I couldn't live without seeing, but I haven't been paying much attention.

>:3 There's more where that came from. (Ahaha no I'm not even kidding)

Karl Urban was amazing in that movie. And I owe Robin picspam of him. xD

I should go see Up. I've heard good things.

Warning: Terminator Salvation is a waste of money. I can only hope you won't make the same mistake I did... and even if you did it won't cost as much as it cost me (7 Euro, do the math).

Actually, 7 Euros is about how much my theatre costs (9.50)

Wait, Josh didn't like it?

Well, I *have* to see it now.
If Josh doesn't like it, I have to love it. Isn't that the universal rule?

Saw (and liked) 20th Century Boys 1&2 at the NY Asian Film Festival yesterday. They're showing again on the 4th on the off chance anyone's down there on the 4th.

Part 3 is coming out in a couple months - though it'd probably be longer than that for anyone who doesn't live in Japan.
