I randomly decided to check the anime boston site to see if the rumors in the handout book last year about the convention for 2009 being in the middle of nowhere were true. I bring good news: the convention will be held at the Hynes convention center and it is going to be in the hotel as well. The bad news is that its going to be held on May 22nd - 24th (when we are out of school). Tis a sad day. Check it out for yourself if you like.

I never heard any rumors of it being held not in Boston? o_O

But I think most of us knew about the later date. It was actually one of the first things I noticed this past year. Sucks cuz it means no funding from the school.. but that shouldn't stop people from grouping up to go anyway!

But it probably will. I'm trying to think if there are any other large(ish) animu conventions that we can go to during the year.

The only big one I know about anywhere near the northeast (checked animecons.com) is Katsucon although it's in DC and in February (President's Day Weekend). I used to go to that one with a previous club (and still go, by myself), with a longer drive. Not much in the spring is there.

According to that site, the 2010 Anime Boston will be in early April, though.
