From the beginning of time (and currency) people have bargained and traded their hard earned monneys away for a little piece of the materialistic pie (preferably blueberry...mmmm). Most of the time, they are ripped off and this is unjust in my mind. Why waste your hard earned dollar when you worked long and...efficiently to get? So, i proudly introduce another regularly updated (most likely flop) topic called...The Buyers Guide to the Universe. Most things will be of the random variety...but almost all of it will be under the anime/movies/video games genre. So, without further delay lets get this show on the road! As a note, I found all of these great deals by simply looking around stores like Best Buy or Gamestop (even though Gamestop wants to steal your money only to give you a few nickels back for that game you bought for $50...I hate you Gamestop!). So, anyone can find great deals like I do just by going to a store and seeking out the proper locations. I highly suggest you scan the entire store (even places you normally dont go) because you never know where you might find an amazing deal. Anyways, on with the show. 1. Cowboy Bebop Remix Complete Collection - $39.99 Best Buy I thought that it was a myth when i saw it on amazon.com, but it is true. This collection has finally come out and I think its about time you ditch that Hong Kong bootleg of yours. All the episodes are there with both english and japanese audio (subtitles too), and there is even a commentary track as well as some interviews. So, if you want to experience the nectar of the God's, I command you to purchase this DVD...its sort of a big deal in the world of anime if you did not know already. 2. Gunstar Super Heroes (GBA)- $4.99 Best Buy Apparently Best Buy is doing this crazy clearance thing where they try to ditch all their old stuff for damn cheap prices (i saw this ipod game thing for 50 cents...i shit you not... 50 cents). This game is a sequel to the original game, and let me tell you its as good if not better than the original...plus its a portable game that can play in your DS so...why not? 3. Great Teacher Onizuka First/Second season- $17.99 Best Buy This great deal surprised me mainly because what i though to be a bootleg version that my roomate has, is surprisingly similar if not the same thing as the real retail version (the box at least). So, first season for 17.99..thats 23 (i think) episodes for 17.99...just run out and buy it now because you know you want to. I think the second season was the same price, but i did not look at it (sorry). 4. Dragon Ball Z Season 1,2,3 - $34.99 Best Buy Cleaned up picture, sharpened audio, a play mode which allows you to watch the intro and ending only once for all the episode on the DVD to allow you to watch the episodes quicker and in a more continuing fashion, and plenty more. All this for 34.99...oh and did I tell you that each season consisted of about 39 episodes...just do it do it. 5. Twisted Metal Head On Special Edition (PS2)- $19.99 Gamestop Now this was the original retail price of this game because it was a port of the PSP game that came out a few years back...but for what you pay you get a whole lot of content. So much content i think i need to make a list: Complete Twisted Metal History Soundtrack (42 tracks) Complete version of Twisted Metal Head on with two additional levels Complete version of Twisted Metal Black 2 (4 levels) Art Book Old ending videos of Twisted Metal 1 Interviews with the creators of Twisted Metal Sweet Tooth mode (collect information tidbits about the series and some artwork) All this for $19.99. I was amazed too, but i would hurry with this one, i have not seen it on many shelves for a while. Well thats all for now, but i will have more in store later. Feel free to post your great deals if you want too! |

Ya, according to the game, the creators of the Twisted Metal Black series died in a plane crash, and thats why the game was never completed (hence there only being 4 levels). Included with the game is the letter that the group who died in the plane crash apparently wrote after their deaths...strange but its quite creepy...makes me wonder if they really did die or if its all a hoax...the world may never know. |

it would be ironic if they did die in a plane crash... dying in twisted metal. |

I should put in this topic that if anyone has yet to play Persona 3 that they should run out and grab a copy of Persona 3:FES, which is retailing for 29.99 and in addition can best be described as Atlus giving a blowjob to all their adoring fans. The game contains an entirely new section after the original end of Persona 3, and the main game has been fleshed out and beefed up amazingly. All this for 30 bucks is a great deal, particularly if you missed out on Persona 3 the first time around. |

I need to emphasize the truth in Justin's statement there. I heard him joygasming over it the first time and I disbelieved, since "High school students shoot themselves in the head repeatedly to summon demons" struck me as a horrible idea. Then I saw the Atlus tag. Atlus won my heart with Ogre Battle 64 (a masterpiece of the console) Then I saw the idea of it being 50% social sim 50% RPG Last time I saw something like that, it was in Rune Factory (albeit executed differently), and it was a -great- idea Finally, I saw that not only is the raw number of summons huge, but you can fuse them together to create new ones Not for everyone obviously; if you hate social sim games, the mechanics will get on your nerves. But -damn-. |

!!WHAT WAS THAT!! Metal Gear Solid the Essential Collection(PS2) - $29.99 Included in this pack is all three of the Metal Gear Solid games (Special Edition where applicable) and some revamped cover art. To get all three games for this one low price in one box set (considering at least the original MGS is a pretty rare find), I think this is a damn good deal. |

Ya, its just a shame they did not port twin snakes to the PS2, or at least make the original a PS2 game so you can use one memory card for the whole pack but then again...who cares, its freakin MGS! |

Yeah it would've been convenient if they'd made them all ps2 games even if they just ported it. |

Lumines +Plus (PS2) - 4.99 Best Buy Again I find myself running toward this flea market like table in the center of my Best Buy because everything on the table is literally $5 or less...and again I found another gem underneath all the crap: Lumines +Plus. The game is nothing more than a port of the PSP puzzle game (which came out forever ago with the release of the system) but regardless is a superb game. The game is...extremely hard from what i can see so far, but overall its a great buy for only $5...now i realize that this game most likely is not available for most people simply because Lumines was a title that I am sure MY Best Buy had tons of copies that they could not sell. When the guy at the register pulled out a handwritten list of the cheap games to check the price on Lumines, I confirmed that the sales at this Best Buy (located in Norwalk CT) were specific to the store itself. So, let it be known that I am sure other Best Buy stores are doing a similar deal where they are selling all their "junk" for damn good prices. As homework for the summer, I request that people go out to their Best Buy (if applicable) and search out these amazing deals! |

For 5 dollars you can convince me to buy most any game in the world lol, and lumines was a fine puzzle game that I've only played a few times for lack of a psp. That's an awesome find! |

The new section to the game (The Answer) is kind of a let down (they cut out the best part of Persona 3, the social links) but the chance to play the game with your characters in swim wear is a huge bonus. |

Bigger is better right? Lets up the ante shall we? Metal Gear Solid 4 Special Edition PS3 Bundle- $499 (Circuit City for sure, other places questionable) Comes out JUNE 12th!!! You may be thinking: what is wrong with this kid suggesting that I buy a PS3, an overpriced console with no games! But hear me out, this is in fact an amazing deal. Lets start with the basics; the box comes with a special edition silver(I don't really notice the difference in the pictures, but im sure its there) PS3 with an 80gig hard drive. The system essentially has double the storage as the current 40 gig console($399), and I believe it is backwards compatible with PS2/1 games unlike the 40 gig model. The box also comes with a Dual Shock 3 controller ($15 more than the normal controller...and a good $15 well spent i might add), and Metal Gear Solid 4 (a.k.a. God's greatest gift to mankind). Now taking into consideration that the game is at least $60 and the controller is $15 its already a difference of $75. So, by my calculations, double the hard drive space, backwards compatibility, and a special edition PS3 is only going to cost $25. This is an amazing deal, and don't kid yourself...you wanted to play FFXIII anyways :P. |
