OK, so I mentioned NYAFF in passing a while ago but didn't want to post until they got the schedule ready, and here it is. (Main Page)

I've been going to this for a few years and always had a pretty good time there; this year they're showing the live-action Death Note 1 & 2 (for those who wanted to see it at Anime Boston) at the Japan Society on 7/6-7/8 (within walking distance of Grand Central). The director's going to be at the showings, so if you end up going you'll probably want to get tix in advance. Tix go for $10-11, $11.50-12 if you get them in advance, but hey, not being broke is overrated anyway.

Other stuff they're showing... the 15th anniversary of Hard Boiled... "I'm a Cyborg but that's OK", by the director of Oldboy but is amazingly not about revenge... free showing of the 12th Gamera movie... and no anime this year (a couple years ago they showed 'Mind Game'), but Aachi & Ssipak is Korean Animation and looks incredibly messed up, if that counts. Most of the other showings are at the IFC center, not far from Washington Square Park.

Questions, comments, anyone want to go as a group? I'll probably be there on the 8th, and maybe the 30th.
