In an attempt to get everyone psyched about Anime Boston, I've posted some of the more insane costumes I've seen over the last 30 conventions I've been to (well, the ones I brought a camera to, anyway).....

Posted Image

Otakon 2005 - Vash the purple tentacle. If you only get half the reference, you should download and play Maniac Mansion (the remake) immediately. Or not..

Posted Image

Katuscon 2004 - Puchuu from Excel Saga.

Now post your own. (And feel free to move the thread if it's in the wrong place)

Costumes, round 2 -- not much to do with actual anime this time, but still...

1. Pilz-E (Katsucon 2007)
Posted Image

2. Imagine what a great place the world would be if all our weapons and armor were made out of Dew cartons and duct tape. (Otakon 2005)
Posted Image

3. To give you an idea of how big this minotaur was, I've provided an approx. 5'6" Ryoga a few feet away. (Balticon 2006)

(Hope I'm not breaking some kind of super secret forum etiquette by posting 3 at once; let me know if I am)

I hardly take any pictures at cons...for various reasons, but those are amazing pics, Otakon usually has some crazy stuff, though Connecticon last year had a massive Star Fox costume run by a very prominent former convention official. Otakon used to have a giant godzilla as well.

I took some pics at Connecticon but didn't get anything reeeally good. Missed Star Fox, darn the luck.

From Otakon 2005 - Yes, Turnip Head does wear Converse. All that bouncing around wears your ..ummm... stilt out:

From Katuscon 2005 - I caught the King of All Cosmos on his cigarette break. :) (Attached)

Seconded. Methinks that was a paid shill, actually. Still, awesome costume, and the rubber butt for the "assdance" was a hilarious bonus.

Pyramidhead nearly destroyed me at the con, I'm coming down the escalator and that sword is hovering above me. Of course...I won that fight.

I recently saw a video on youtube of two german guys in full black templars space marine power armor, acting like statues and then scaring the bejesus out of people. It was classic.

Here's some from last weekend - this should make up for my not getting any really good photos at Katsucon this year. Now the trick is keeping it to 3 images. Oh well, plenty more where these came from.
