You could choose to........... Stop posting the pictures this way! Use an Image hosting web site! PLEASE! And I am serious about this for all people on this forum. We have a 16 Megabyte limit on uploads. Guess how much is currently being used?? 14.1 Megabytes. So. For all those in this thread (and others, I might post this as an announcement), I suggest and REQUEST (hint, hint <_<) that people join Imageshack or Photobucket or one of the other myriad image hosting programs. Then, not only can you stop hogging the Forum's limited space (that is actually meant for avatars, not attachments), but also everyone can put multiple images in one post, and if people wanted to, edit a single post to add more. OK?? If people continue to use the 'file attachments' feature, I will have to discontinue the thread, and I don't want to have to do that. As it is, I may have to go through and delete some of the attachments already done, so if anyone wishes to go through their own posts to convert over to off-forum hosting of images, I would be MOST pleased. If not....well, then I WILL lock the topic. So, *please* sign up for one of these sites. |

Good thing you decided to tell us after doing this for 37 pages...
<_< No offense, but it would have been much handier to yell at people when we first started the thread, not after it had been going for a long time. |

When we started the thread, I was not under the impression that people were going to primarily use the File Attachment option (because at the beginning, Josh was doing it, and using a hosting program), and as such did not feel it was necessary to mention this. However, it only recently came to my attention that some of these files are as large as they are (The fact that it allows people to upload files far larger than our maximum file capacity is quite annoying), and so now I am noting this. This will be addressed in another topic I will make, and I will include a tutorial and help-topic for Image Hosting programs. Until then, I am going to see if I can disallow the File Attachment option. (EDIT: Apparently it is not possible to completely disallow it, so I will have to trust everyone to try their best to not Upload) And if I absolutely must, I will go through and personally transfer the files that have been uploaded into an off-site host. |

Good thing I've been running an image hosting site out of my living room for the past year and a half.
.... and with 40 gigs free. I can write an upload page for people if they want to go that route - though it's a little slow. Just you wait, Google.. I may be ranked #2,271,150 right now but I *WILL* overtake you any time now!! Bwahahaha!! ![]() ![]() (Okay, I used the upload a couple times too - everyone else was doing it. I'd call it peer pressure if not for the ever widening age gap.) |

Yes to what Robin said. Also, use some common sense when you upload stuff. Small static images are good, but monster files or animated gifs that take up over half a meg, seriously. |
