National Novel Writer's Month: the quest to write a 50,000 word story in the 30 days of November.

I've tried to do this for the past 2 years and survived for less than 1,000 words. The problem? I had no motivation from other people. This isn't an easy take and amounts to 5-6 pages every day for a month. The other catch is... it's cheating to write anything out before-hand. Sure, you can think about it... figure out characters... but the point is that a lot of the time people never finish novels because they never sit down and just WRITE.

So basically... who's game? Justin has already said he'd like to try, but I wanna see if anyone else in the club like to write and would like to try.

Also, has anyone else tried this?

hehe god knows i'm definitely too busy to do this... but I'm going to try anyway.. just like the last 2 years. It's actually kinda relaxing to just sit down and write.

Remember: registration on the nanowrimo page starts at the beginning of october, so make sure to go over and register. The forums are a good place to get ideas. My fave thread on there is the one with novel challenges. Basically, the most outrageous siutations and lines are created... and you see what you want to include in your story.

I would love to do this! :D I only tried myself at fanfictions before and I never ended them because... when you decide on your dead-line yourself it can't work if you're not motivated ^^; Original fiction with a deadline would be a great challenge *-*

But I'll do it in French because I don't want to die in the process >_>

I registered today and am highly motivated! And I don't think writing 2000 words or so per day is that much of a challenge, so I'm confident. And I don't care about exams, yay!

*goes planning*

Thanks but it's not what I wanted to know, sorry XD They've go 4 "regional lounges" for Connecticut : East, North, Shoreline, Elsewhere. So where should I click?

...yes I've actually never looked at a map of Connecticut and had no idea where is Storrs. Maybe I should stop being lazy and look for one °-°;

I think Storrs would probably count as Eastern Connecticut, we're in the northeastern area.
Here's a map of CT from Wikipedia with Storrs marked on it:

I'm signed up as Venter. Now to begin planning without actually writing... I already have a title, too. "The Ballad of Jack Sloakley III"
