Hey all, I'm Francesco. I actually live right on the border of MA and CT, and was looking for a new group of people to hang out and watch anime with. Found this club online, and decided to try it once. Figured it was worth attempting, since if outsiders weren't welcome I could always just not come back and fade into obscurity. Turned out it was worth going to, even though I heard after the fact that this week's meeting was nearly canceled. >.>

So, a bit about me... I graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in June technically, but October really since they didn't issue my diploma until then. Still managed to get a job out in East Hartford with a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman even before I got my actual diploma, and this month moved to Sturbridge, MA.

I have been to Anime Boston 2007-2009, as well as Connecticon 2008. I am still trying to maintain ties with WPI's Science Fiction Society, which is kinda a conglomeration of sci-fi and anime clubs. Some of my favorite anime include Big O, Ergo Proxy, Axis Powers Hetalia and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, and I have a decent spread of anime available to me from years of accumulating it.

I never did officially get told one way or another whether non-UConn students were okay, so if they aren't I can disappear without complaint. Otherwise, the first meeting was fun enough that I'll probably show up next week.

Welcome to the forums and the club!!! :D

You won't ever see me at club since I'm up near Boston now.. but I can say that EVERYONE is welcome to meetings. Students... staff.... surrounding area. One of the longest running attendees doesn't go to UCONN!

I went out to Sturbridge a few months ago, neat place. And ooh, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei was a good series, what I've seen of it :)

Welcome to the club! You're certainly welcome, regardless as to where or when you went to university :-). We like to be a community organization just as much if not more than a school one. Hope to see you on Thursday!

-Max

PS. As president, can't I just claim welcome cookies by eminent domain now rather than concocting Team Rocket-esque schemes to steal them now?

No, we need you to introduce yourself in rhyme every episode.

I concur. Every meeting you should have a new rhyme/scheme to steal welcome cookies from the unsuspecting anime club members.

Welcome, Francesco!! I wasn't there last week due to being on vacation, but I will be there tomorrow, and you'll know who I am. I'm the loud obnoxious girl who sits behind the officers. Although I'm not as obnoxious this year, as the selection of anime we're watching don't have opening theme songs that I can make annoying somehow. But I'm still pretty loud regardless :P
