Dear Elderscrolls Community,

Welcome to the Star Wars Galaxy Modification thread! This modification aims to partly create the worlds of Star Wars. This is NOT a total conversion and will be perfectly compatible with the original Oblivion world. In fact you will be able to decide for yourself wether you want to play a part in the universe of Star Wars! This modification will take place between Episode III (Revenge of the Sith) and Episode IV (A new Hope), because this is a largely unexplored period in the Star Wars galaxy.

I can already hear you say "That makes absolutely no sense!". We've thought about this aswell. Nirn is a planet in the Star Wars galaxy - existing on the very edge of the galaxy. The midichlorians were not able to inhabit the planet and its lifeforms is because there are other microscopic lifeforms on the planet that the midichlorians are extremely sensitive to - dying upon contact, called the Nirnichlorians. The nirnichlorians exist in the atmosphere and in the air all over Nirn, and in the bodies of all life forms on Nirn. Because they exist in one's body and in the air, the person (or creature) is able to "bend" the chemicals connecting the Nirnichlorians between the person and the air, and therefore create different types of "magic" such as creating a catalyst and producing fire, or slowing down the reaction, creating ice, or creating a magnetic field between opposite polar nirnichlorians, creating lightning, and able to launch it. As midichlorians connect all lifeforms in the star wars galaxy with the force, nirnichlorians connect all lifeforms on nirn through a perversion of the force: Magicka. Humans arrived on Nirn years ago when their ship crashed in Atmora. The ship burnt to ash, and through generations, technological knowledge dissipated, leaving them barbaric, struggling to survive the extreme cold. The Midichlorians that they carried eventually died through generations of breeding, and they adopted the Nirnichlorians, and hence, the Nede were actually humans from another planet - probably Coruscant or Corellia. Also, the Redguard are descendants of some of the survivors who traveled to Yokuda rather than settling Atmora and spreading into Tamriel.

1. Our Goal

Experience has teached us that it's a bad idea to release it when everything is done. In fact most modifications this size never get released. This is not where the problems lie. The problem is that everything made is lost, thus the community has nothing to work with anymore in case somebody wants to make the mod again. In order to prevent this we will provide the community with incremental updates, meaning one world at a time. This assures us that we can make a proper release. The end result should become:

- Create aproxomitly 10 planets from the Star Wars Galaxy
- Create many races from the Star Wars Galaxy (See the lists!)
- Various quests and joinable factions including the Rebellion and the Empire
- Custom models, meshes and animation
- Many, many more, tune in whenever you like to check for updates in this thread.

For the Alpha release we will attempt to recreate atleast 1 planet and as many races as possible. The recreated planets will have atleast one outpost for travelling purposes. Also most planets will be mainly wilderness as creatures are to be implented later.

Withouth one, this mod will never be realised. Currently the amount of members is low seeing as the modification has only recently started up. As you can see, we need members urgently! If you want to contribute to this project, please see section 10.

10. Support us!

We are in need of various dedicated members. With that I mean, members who are active, contribute regulary and who will not run off just like that. To prevent this modification from getting rushed there will be standards and guidelines such as:

- Models/Meshes/Textures are required to be atleast as good as Bethesda's original stuff. Nobody likes looking at an ugly looking building.
- Voices must have no or very limited background music/noise
- No unclean entries, do not modify ANYTHING within Tamriel when this is not needed. If it happens by accident, clean it with Tes4Edit or Tes4Gecko
- Do not copy vanilla cells

There are more of these but we will encounter them along the way.

As of this moment we are in serious need of:

Modellers: Interiors, Exteriors, Weapons, Armor, Clothes etc.
Texturers: Interiors, Exteriors, Weapons, Armor, Clothes etc.
Level Designers: Exteriors and Interiors etc.
Writers: Holocrons, books, quests etc.
Animators: Lightsaber Combat, Blaster & Rifle combat animations
Scripters: Alot of things, could be for a quest, spell etc.

You do realize that for every new creature you make, you'll need new body meshes and new animations, and they can't be playable races because of those two facts.

Also, guns and crossbows are impossible, completely impossible. Those weapons need new animations which would have to overwrite current animations.

Weapon sounds work the same as weapon animations: there is one universal sound/animation for one-handed weapon, two-handed weapon, hand-to-hand, and bows. Four animations; four sounds. Period.

All flyable things except for the bikes are impossible, and the bikes will be crap anyways. The game is only meant to have horses ridable. The reason modders made other animals ridable is because they are ridden the same way as horses. Same animations equal no problem. With the others that are covered, like the Tie Fighter, Falcon, etc., there is the problem of them being covered. Unless you want to ride on top of your X-Wing, you can't have it. Oh, there's also the problem that without the use of tcl, the physics engine won't allow flying, and I'm sure you don't want people flying right through enemy ships.


One more thing, this entire thing is illegal. It's in breach of copyright laws. If Lucas Arts found out about this, it would, undoubtedly, be shut down.

Ninja if you new ANYTHING about what we're doing and how we're going it you wouldnt even start. We know what we're doing we have the most experienced modders around. Crossbows have already been made, and flying ships impossible? How stupid can you be? its been done already you know...

Edit: Obse will allow us to get around sound issues and animation issues. ;)

I have my doubts about this mod's chances of success too. Once it's a bit further along, and it's beginning to look like it has some chance of success, then maybe I'll help, assuming I have the time. I don't perticularly want to use up loads of modding time on a mod that looks lke it's going to fail. No offence to you or your team, of course- it was like that with PS, too- I'd have joined long before I did, but I wanted to make sure it had a chance of being finished first.

So, good luck, and maybe I'll be joining you some time in the future :)

thanks, supposedly he didnt have time, i have my doubts if he can even do what he said that he can do. He was supposed to do a bunch of work and ended up leaving for everyone else (who already have loads to do). update: Dr.Dume joined the mod.

heh... the titles are the resposnibility.... I like how Valve works:

I highly doubt this mod will turn out anything as big as you guys want, but I'm sure it will be a great starting point for modders interested in continuing your work.

This is going pretty good. Got some models going and just waiting for dume now to finish up with the worldspace. Sorry for me taking so long to reply but i keep forgetting to come here...and now its different again...damn...
