Unlike chris, I'm making a different thread. What is your least favourite race? I say *shudders* BOSMER! OH NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOO! *ninja is surrounded by Fargoth, Glarthir, and Adoring Fan* "Have you seen my ring?" "psst! Over here! Yes, you, we need to talk." "By Azura, by Azura, by Azura! It's the Grand Champion! I can't believe it's you standing here next to me." AHHHHHHHHH! GET AWAY! |

Undead. Without OE? Oh, well then, I'd say that it'd be Nords. |

There are undead in vanilla Oblivion. Don't you know about the law stating that all fantasy games must have some kind of zombie in it? |

I would disagree. Undead, are no longer living. They undead, not dead, but not alive either. They are somewhere in between. A living creature and a non-living creature are not the same. Thus, if someone dies, let's just say....Adoring Fan , he is currently a bosmer. If he is brought back with necromancy, he is no longer a bosmer. Then what is he? Undead. 'Race' is a word used to further divide species. Example, there are different races of human, but they are all human. Undead is not human, nor elf, nor beast. It's nothing, but it must be something. So, it's its own race: undead.

So Septim's "undead" is kinda like a zombie with intelligence? Or a vampire without all the quirks? I mean, an undead in and of itself is some necromantic remnant of that which was once alive. Oblivion's ghosts, wraiths, zombies, liches, and skeletons all fall under this category. Normally, I'd say vampire as well; traditionally they are undead. In the Elder Scrolls though, it is gained through a disease, and there doesn't seem to be any actually death and rebirth into undeath, so it's kinda more like the process of becoming a werewolf. Hmm... I never bothered thinking about TES vampires this much... So Septim, I have seen the screenshots but would like to know more about how these "undead" actually come into being. I am very intrigued. And on the note about what this thread is all about, I'd have to say my least favorite race is the High Elves. They're so stuck up! And tall. And their faces are all vertically stretchy-like. And all the aforementioned Bosmers are all very annoying, but to say that it's your least favorite race is harsh. Notice how they're all male. I think Beth is just trying to get us all to develop a racist/sexist view of the Bosmer males. And I think it's working.

Yep, Bethesda hates Bosmers. The proof is right in their games. Four words: Faragoth, Glarthir, Adoring Fan. |
