Just moved right. We just got the Bresnan dude to install internet yesterday. Befoe that I was just using my neighbors internet via wireless. But their router isn't working anymore, they need to reset it. I don't exactly want to go over there and ask them to reset it.

So I figured, I should start using my own internet. It is far faster than the one I was using from the neighbors. So how do I set it up? Do I need another ethernet cord? Or do I need to buy a wirless router?

You need to specify router details - make model etc so us nerdz can go look it up. If you already have a modem with it that's set up - plug it into your computer (probably via ethernet cord) or you can set it up through a router (which would be my preference). Get a router if you don't have one is my advice. Wireless comes in very handy, but you can also plug ethernet cables into the router. So wireless router = good.

Yeah I got it all understandeded now. Just money problem now. Bought an ethernet cable, was just going to link laptop to my computer. Computer only had one slot for it. So i'ma have to get a router, but my mom doesn't want to spend thirty bucks or so on a router.

Make sure you get a decent one though. Shitty wireless routers will severly cap your internet speed (alot is lost through wireless transfer).
I doubt it is, but if your computer is wireless N compatible I'd say go with that - it's the fastest around at the moment. Otherwise just stick with G/G+/Gmimo things..

Happy router!
