I personally think labels are good things. Labels are natural, they help us to identify with different things. I am proud to label myself as a punk rocker but at the same time there's a lot more to me.

Labels are good. People say labels are these terrible, nasty horrible things, but thats because people don't use them properly. For example, I know for a fact that its highly unlikely I'll ever like an emo kid. Sounds like I'm labelling? Correct. The reason why is because if someone identified themselves as emo (proclaiming that they subscribe to a group that is notorious for self harm, pretending to be depressed and being "random"), there's a very good chance that I'm not going to get along with that person. I dislike the people who have a mindset that makes them find the emo stereotype attractive.

Depending on how you use labels, they can be a good thing. I can't say I'd dislike every emo, but at the same time because of the above reason, I tend to avoid them. Maybe thats arrogant and self righteous, but why spend two hours speaking to someone that you're probably not going to like anyway when there's another guy right next to him that you've got a better chance of liking?

If everyone used stereotypes thoughtfully, there wouldn't be an issue.

Labels are stupid. I get labled stupid or ditzy because I'm blonde, which is retarded because the dumb blonde cliché started with the kinds of characters Marylin Monroe played in many of her movies and usually played characters who were pretty ditsy, though sometimes she came through with some profoundly wise insight. So when people blame their ditsiness or naivety on being blonde, they are just pandering to a popular culture stereotype.
In other words, being blonde has nothing to do with being stupid. Being stupid has everything to do with being stupid. Hair color is entirely superficial, and it's extremely shallow to judge entirely on a physical feature that can be changed as easy as hair color. Certainly some blondes are ditzy and stupid, but so can anyone. Let their personality speak for itself, not their hair.

Sorry for ranting, I'm just getting it a lot, and I'd thought I'd point that out in this whole "label' thread.

And, I like coke over pepsi.
Pepsi is too sugary and gross.

See thats pretty ironic, don't you wanna be an actress? And well, ditzy, stupid. I say no more. lmfao xD

Course I do.
But those were only the characters she was playing. Marilyn Monroe was much more than her characters.

IMO: Discussing cultures is extremely gay.

Now, for a real topic: Whats better, Pepsi or Coke? Blatently Pepsi, christ.

Pepsi makes Mountain Dew everyone loves mountain Dew. But if we're talking about solely those types, i go with Coke, it tingles. Probably like vodka.

Kat, Jeeeeeeeeez, you look, Sa-weet like bananas dipped in chocolate sprinkled with sugar with a side glass of kiwi koolaid.

Didn't read most of this, the whole scene, emo, hardcore, yeah, like Elliot said, pretty stupid. Or close enough to that. I make my own titles, like that guy from pokemon, pokemaniac.

Hooliganigan. Sounds cool.

I agree Lol, thing is though labelling helps me in real life, who I should avoid and who I should not, for example the emo assholes, one mentioned my dad last friday for some reason (I haven't actually met my dad before, and he knew that) in an attempt to make me feel bad for not feeling like him, but his mums in a wheelchair so to shut him up i honestly just went "yeah but I put your mum in a chair last night", which shuts that type of label up, I label people in many ways, these vary from:

Types of ways they will be insulted by
Types of ways they will agree with
Types of people they are
If there cool or assholes.

The 4 labels that keep me happy, me, myself, I, Conor.

Spike does have a good point.

Like in America, there a lot of big black people, and generally, they like to think their hardcore. 'least the ones i've run across. So i tend to avoid them on the streets. Same with Mexicans, especially the midget ones.

Ah, just noticed. Like half of the Elliot's named for his bands, I like too.
Especially the Killers. Anyways, as for music, I'm more into Rock. All kinds of rock.
Tbh, I like anything that is pleasent listening to, except for country.

Now, I guess I'm more into ... Indie Rock, Punk Rock, Normal Rock? Eeh, don't know really.

Classic rock is best.

Band I really hate is the Beach Boys, especially the guy with the girlie voice - sounds like he inhaled helium.
