Yes.

People can post bounties on others.
You can collect them.

Quests/Missions will also set bounties but on NPC characters.

I shall explain =]

There are several ways that PVP can be activated.

1. - You are on active special forces duty for a faction (Rebel/Imperial), in which case people of the opposite faction who are also SF can attack you.

2. - PVP Zones. Now these areas were only really introduced in the later days of SWG so i'm not sure if they will be included here. The Battle of Restuss is a PVP zone, and when you enter it other players can attack you.

3. - Guild Wars. Guilds can declare war upon one another and in this case you may attack other members of other Guilds. However in the real SWG they often make terms of engagement, such as you may not attack people zed many levels bellow you, or people of certain proffessions (EG. traders).

4. - Duel. When you challenge someone to a duel they are given the option to accept or decline. In a duel other players cannot attack you (unless you are active in other PVP commitments), however hostile NPCs still will. Most people only incapacitate their enemies, and then /end the duel, however for the duel to end itself a player must die.

5. - Player Bounties. It is to my knowledge that Pre CU the only player bounties you could collect were against Force Sensitives. You would collect a bounty from a terminal and then have to track the target and kill them. However, not long after the NGE (New Game Enhancements; latest major change in SWG) you were able to place bounties of your own specefied amounts onto a target (over 10k credits only) who has killed you in PVP.

I hope that clears up any questions you may have about PvP in general =]

But basically a level 80/90 whatnot would be near impossible for a BH of anything less than 70 to kill, right?

Of course, when you say "bounty", I know you come back in a few seconds, would they actually kill you during those seconds and you'd have to go all the way back to boring whatnot?

And, another question - can only bounty hunters fulfill bounties, or can any character, or, you know..
