I had a simple thing to ask/state. Cortosis: Cortosis ore was a very rare, brittle, fibrous material whose conductive properties caused lightsabers to temporarily short out upon contact. This effect made cortosis a useful material for anti-lightsaber melee weapons, though with repeated strikes, a lightsaber could still cut through it. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cortosis Alright. Hence a Duel, One using a Cortosis Sword, the other with a Lightsaber. Hence the Definition from Wookiee, itself, since many of you tell each other, [ Go check wookiee. <3. ] I have done so. Would this be a valid attack sequence? * = Cortosis Sword Wielder. - = Lightsaber Wielder. *spinslashes into his lightsaber* -blocks it with my lightsaber- *the cortosis ore shuts off his saber* *the saber then rips into his chest* *and down into the skins, and muscles, and etc* The Lightsaber, according to Wookieepedia itself!, would short out. I make my point. *straightens my tie* *sits down at the table with my briefcase* |

How would the saber go into his chest if it shorted out? I am going to assume you meant the sword. Yes, I'd assume it would be valid however; The saber clashing with the sword would harm the blade somewhat as the definition states "repeated strikes with a saber could still cut through it" |

As Pyro said, it depends on the quality of Cortosis and where you are actually gripping the sword. If it's pure cortosis and you actually accidently touched the metal you died (or he did) instantly and it would've broken if you dropped it. However if it's Cortosis Shield... it'd short it out and do no harm if anyone touched it (as long as they didn't cut themselves with it). The most common, however, Cortosis Weave or just regular Cortosis Alloy would do little to nothing. |

Ben, you are right about this, although when using cortosis, hte blade has to be one hundred percent cortosis ore, meaning pure unrefined cortosis, you could punch it and it would break, and by punch i mean a little three year old punch, and it would crack. if you wanted to just block lightsabers, you could use cortosis alloy, meaning pure cortosis ore, mixed with mandalorian airon or w.e you want to use, if you wanted to make it even bentter, take a bladew with cortosis alloyy, then layer it with ore, then with alloy, and then ore overtop, so if it broke, you would have more over it, type of thing... |

-Grips down your blade with my armoured hands- -Snaps the blade down to the right- -Snaps the blade down to the left- -The blade snaps down now- -Praise be to my armoured hands which I made for myself to protect my hands from a sharp but brittle toothpick- ;D |

How about, we don't get all technical. Eh? Edit: By that, i mean, the cortosis can short it out. But it doesn't have to be a certain grade. People would start being nazis. |

Thats correct. But don't talk about it like it's a good thing. It's an awful thing. Shows how uncapable and how unrealistic their fighting really is. |

Yet you insult people all the time. Elliot, I agree with you. Instead of trying to be fast, we should think our moves through. But that would need a new fighting system, or at least an altered one. |
