Yes, think about the noobs. Basically, it's another one of my rants that I randomly came up with in the Jedi order, the discussion was: "Who do you think the best GM is?" My response: "Tiwaz, for sure." Why? It's simple. Everything he did was related to how newbies would react to the appearance and impression of seeing a Jedi. For example, notifying a Jedi is very easy. Usually, once you see a guy/girl in all brown, you instantly think "Jedi". But today, do you? No. On the Sith's side of things, you think "guy in all black, probably a Sith" Why? Because we haven't fallen from grace or our traditions. The main problem is with the Jedi on this one I'm afraid. I've hung out in the Jedi Order for like, I 'unno - 45 mins or so, just chatting, observing, killing time. (OOC obviously.) I've noticed that alot of the Jedi don't actually appeal to me as Jedi. And I was pretending to myself, that I was a noob, and that my mind was utterly open minded about what I was seeing. And what I saw, complicated my thoughts for abit. Hardly any of the Jedi, actually look like Jedi. Xenetics, was wearing purple. Zharn was wearing black. 3dude was wearing green. Seithius was wearing white. Djo wears white/black. I saw Kevin in white. (But recently in brown.) Dielection in blue. Dj in white. Heck, that Zzeldathree guy has only just joined there, and he's the only one who looks like a fuckin' Jedi because he dresses in brown/cream. It's a common thing to know, that Jedi dress in brown and cream. YES, I know that in SOME special cases, white has been seen, and blue has been seen, and black has been seen. But why're you all trying to think your special and unique, by wearing different color clothes? I'd stop thinking inwards about yourselves, and focus on what you appear like to the people who want to take an interest in you. I mean, wearing brown is like representing the Jedi Order. Just as wielding a Lightsaber represents you are Force Sensitive. Some ask me "Why do you think Tiwaz was the best GM?" Tiwaz was a good GM, because he made the Jedi at the time, and of that Era, look like their attitude, their order, their dedication and efforts, go down in history. And they did. He kept everything basic. the Guardian/Sentinel/Consular was cut out for simplicity. The Order wasnt this huge monstrous pile of shit, which was scattered, and confusing to the neweye. His ranks: Initiate. Padawan. Knight. Master. (6 Masters only, which were of the Council.) "Why a limited amount of Masters?" So you don't have a bunch of people who dont deserve Master running around the place. And so you'll actually think about who your appointing as Master, thinking about whether they can actually successfully teach a student to perfection or not. The Jedi Trials were between Master and Padawan, and were achieved as they went through their time together. The "Knighting Ceramony" was skipped, and did not take place. The Master would simply announce their Padawan a knight. This was not traditional, but who cares? It takes up less time. It's easier. Also, the Jedi fight too much now. They encouraged fighting. They jumped into war quickly when I started it. They did not stand their ground on their Temple (should only have one.) nor did they even defend it well. On the note of simplicity - rooms of the order itself, were taken into great consideration. Things were kept simple as could be. Main room - consisting of courtyard, gates, and obviously lounging area. Through the tele: Two training rooms - this acted as a classroom aswell, it was possible for students to learn in here, just as good as they learn in the classroom. Therefore, there is no need for a classroom. Council Chamber - this is an obvious one. Cells - For restraining, not killing. For redemption, and peace. For punishment, and realization. Not for torture, not for interrogation, not for murder because the prisoner "deserved it" or is "too dangerous" (biggest and lamest excuse ever.) Small Forgery - For Masters and Padawans to construct Lightsabers. Thats just how simple it is. Now look what we got. Jedi Archive, Classrooms, Food Court, Hall of Knighthood, Meditation Gardens, basically aload of shit that isnt ever used, or is rarely used. This isnt a stab at the Jedi, and this isnt a complaint. It's more of a rant, and it's something I wanted to get off my chest. I think this is one of the main flaws, and faults in which is bringing down RP slightly. I'm not blaming it utterly, but it could be taken into SOME consideration atleast. Is it just me? Who knows. Tyvm for reading. I'm sorry it was long. -Elliot. |

Thats my point. Why complicate things with a dress code? Common sense dress code: All Jedi wear brown. |

It's a stab at the jedi, and since I'm the GM, and was mentioned, its a stab at me. I'm doing a fine job leading. Yes tiwaz was a great GM. No we don't have a food court. I like to give the Jedi a JEDI experience. Jedi in each era, you notice each order is different? Each GM leads a different way? When an Order, or Temple is built, The Jedi try to rediscover, re-create or undig old Traditions of the Order, old rooms of the temple and so on. Which is why I did it. Ceremonies, to help the Jedi actually care for another and care for when someone in granted Knight. It's a big deal in my eyes. The Jedi wearing clothes thing. I have a Basic uniform set. Not going to waste my time posting it, but the reason I was in black, Well I have my reasons it was temp. Xenetics, those are his Sage Master Robes. And so fourth. So yeah. |

Your mind was utterly open minded... you mean your mind was utterly opened? If you haven't seen my character, I wear redish clothes and there's a reason for it. Along my travels and studies I came across the norris root. I learned many of it's marvels and one that I enjoyed the most. It's reddish die. It causes a reddish tone onto robes and it has a resistance to lightsabers and blaster bolts' energy. So that's my story... |

Luke Skywalker had black robes. saying he didn't dress like a Jedi? During the NJO, a dress code wasn't very important. |

Whats the big deal with this stupid dress code? If your a Jedi wear brown, white, and/or cream. And be done with it. And if somebody challenges the way you dress, who gives a shit.. you don't need to tell them anything. They'll either accept it and roleplay, or bitch and whine. |

I have to go with Elliot here. Nick, why are you spazzing out? You act like he made this ENTIRE post just to take a stab at you... when he obviously didn't. Is someone a little insecure? If so, don't be. Jedi should wear Jedi colors. Brown or cream. There are the special cases, yes. There are Jedi that wore black and there are Jedi that wore white and there are Jedi that wore blue and reddish-brown and other things than Jedi robes. ... And these 'Jedi' are approximately 0.5% of all Jedi (in the movies and books and so on) Right now 95% of the Jedi aren't wearing Jedi robes. |

Thats me, i dont care about standing out. but apparently, compared to those guys without uni, i did stand out quit a bit. xD i think we need a dress code enforced, like dont let ppl in if they have wrong robes. and i think we need that in effect now. |
