Fall of the Chiss Ascendancy

If you controlled Csilla, you controlled the Chiss Ascendancy. For weeks the intelligence agents and saboteurs of the Sovereign Hegemony had been picking away at the world's defenses, demoralising the soldiers, and subtly lessening the pride and will of the common people. Now was the perfect time to attack..

Two fleets of Sovereign-class cruisers, sixty in total of the great lumbering vessels, came out of hyperspace around the ice world of Csilla. The planetary defenses of the Chiss were caught off guard; their communications and radars were being jammed from the planet itself. As the Sovereign cruisers opened fire, the technologically superior ships of the Chiss prepared to return fire - only they couldn't. Their weaponry had been sabotaged and wouldn't work, all turbolasers had been powered down from a foreign source and the hangar bays were not opening.

Two of the Chiss cruisers had been destroyed before the Sovereign fleets stopped firing. They were ordered to takeover as peacefully as possible, and so they proceeded to land on Csilla and capture any soldiers or other vessels.

Subsequently the orders were sent from the Chiss capital, and the rest of the world's in their empire were commanded to stand down as Sovereign forces took over.
