Pietro sped down the stairs, stopping at the bottom to peer into the kitchen. "Shay?" In a matter of seconds, he had checked the living room, rec room, bathroom, and hallways as well. No sign of her. Pietro scratched his head in confusion, careful not to mess up the perfected white wings of hair. He could have sworn she had told him she would be spending the day doing laundry and other things around the house. He sighed miserably. Maybe she had gone out after all. He made his way to the front door and opened out, considering a short run to clear his head. Things had been a little stressful since the whole episode with Marina and Adrian, and everyone was still a little bit tense, or at least those who had been around to see it happen. Closing the door behind him, he looked up, catching sight of Shay standing by a tree in the yard. A smile was already half formed on his face when he noticed that she was chatting with Todd (which he didn't mind), and another teenage guy. A much better looking and better built (and more hygienic) teenage guy. Pietro frowned and began to walk stiffly towards them. Suddenly, he stopped dead in his tracks as the tall, bright-oranged haired teen turned slightly to the side. Pyro?! Pietro's eyes widened then narrowed into a glare. "Pyro." Pietro hissed under his breath, and he was next to them in a split second. "Allerdyce!" He directed at John this time. His voice was loud enough to sound angry, but refrained from completely yelling. Before giving the boy a chance to respond, Pietro sent a punch straight into his left cheek. "That is for the stack of car magazines," He said in a hard tone, remembering the large pile of ashes he had found after his last visit back to the Acolytes base. He had to go back every once in a while to report back to his father, and apparently John hadn't cared the least about the belongings that Pietro had left there in his absence. As John straightened up, Pietro sent another fist flying, this time towards his stomach. "And that..." He glowered. "... Is for my father." He brushed imaginary dust from his hands, feeling some of the tension ease from his body at finally being able to release some anger. "So Allerdyce," He began with the greeting again as if nothing had happened. "How are you?" Pietro suddenly remembered one last thing that was bothering him at the moment. "Oh, and why are you talking to my--" He stopped abruptly, realizing the mistake he had been about to make. His father wasn't supposed to find out about him and Shay. It would only cause a whole new world of problems for Pietro and he knew it. He pretended not to have said anything and looked back at John, an angry but smug expression on his face. Maybe John wouldn't have noticed the slip-up anyway. |

"Allerdyce!" Pyro instantly jolted at the sound of his name, his eyes scanning for the source just in time to catch sight of a fist slamming into the side of his face. "OW! What the hell--?" "That is for the stack of car magazines" "Bloody hell, mate!" he shouted, turning away as he spat out a little bit of blood. "I think ya might've knocked a tooth loose! And it's your own bloody fault that ya left them magazines at the base anyway!" Through eyes that were slightly tearing from pain, Pyro finally managed to look into the angry face of Pietro. He was half wondering if he was actually that pissed off about the magazines or if he was just trying to put on a show for his team-mates. Either way, though, he sure as hell wasn't happy with getting punched in the face. "And look 'ere--F*CK!" Pyro doubled over with a slightly strangled gasp, his arms instantly wrapping around his stomach as he struggled to keep himself standing. For a minute all he did was cough and resist the urge to vomit; cringing horribly in pain. "And that, was for my father. "Next time give that message ta him yourself!" he snapped, glaring as much as he could at the speed demon from his slightly hunched position. He had no idea what had gotten into him since the last time he saw him, but Magneto sure was going to hear about this--Pyro would make sure of it. 'Little brat of 'is thinkin' he can do whatever the hell he wants...' "So Allerdyce, how are you?" "In a hell of a lot more pain than I was a few minutes ago!" he hissed, slowly trying to get himself back into a straight-standing position but finding it very difficult. "No thanks ta you, ya little brat..." "Oh, and why are you talking to my--" Pyro blinked, confusion coming into his pain-filled eyes as he glanced around at the small group. "Talkin' ta who, mate?" he groaned, finally managing to get himself into a somewhat-straight position though still keeping the green tint to his face. "I haven' been talking to anyone but the little Sheila and the froggy-bloke. I mean, there was a little kitty-cat here earlier but it took off--" He suddenly stopped, blinked once, then let his gaze slide from Pietro to Shay. Now that there weren't any fists flying in his direction, he was able to take notice that she wasn't standing where she used to be, but had in fact moved very close to where Pietro was with a concerned and confused look in her eyes. And something else too. "Ohhhh...no wonder Sheila here didn' take too kindly ta me," he remarked, a sudden grin replacing any and all traces of pain on his face. "Really mate, ya shoulda let us all know you found yourself a girl. I mean, she's certainly nothin' ta be ashamed of. Quite a pretty little thing." He turned to move a little closer to where Shay and Pietro were standing, his attention turning to her for the moment. "So just what might your name be?" he asked, cutting her off in mid-sentence as she angrily tried to tell him she wasn't a 'thing'. "I never did introduce meself, did I? The name's Pyro--well, technically John Allerdyce, but you get the picture." He offered her his hand, but just got a glare in return. "Oh come now, you're not all mad about me scarin' off your cat, are you? I'm sure ol' Speedy here could catch up to it in no time if you asked 'im to." His eyes returned to Pietro, a glimmer of malicious amusement sparkling in them. "Wouldn't ya, mate?" |

Pietro watched fearfully as John's eyes shifted between the two of them. He remained firmly silent, mentally cursing when he saw John's eyes noticeably light up. Quite a pretty little thing." Standing barely a foot and a half from John now, Pietro was practically seething with anger. John would surely tell Pietro's father, and there wasn't a thing Pietro could do to be certain that he wouldn't. He wanted nothing more than to punch John in the face a second time. Not that it would help the situation. His eyes returned to Pietro, a glimmer of malicious amusement sparkling in them. "Wouldn't ya, mate?" That was it. Pietro took one look at the glint in John's eyes, and that was all it took. Grabbing the front of John's shirt in his fists, he shoved John back a few feet, slamming his back into the tree trunk with a hard thud. ((Chelsea, this would be where I insert a big, elaborate session of...)) "I swear to God..." Pietro snarled, practically nose to nose with the pyro. "If you tell my father... anything..." |

((well, I can certainly try XD)) Todd smiled at Shay as she ruffled his shaggy hair. Her attitude towards Pyro wasn't exactly friendly, but Todd himself didn't mind the fire-bending mutant. "Allerdyce!" He heard Pietro's voice, and a mysterious wind drifted by. He turned to see a fist flying at Pyro's face. An upset looking Pietro had joined the gang. Before Todd could register what was happening, Pyro was struck again, almost being knocked off his feet. "Christ, Pietro!" Todd whispered, more to hiimself than anyone else. He watched nervously as Pyro coughed and spat out some blood, returning the fierce glare. Pietro suddenly loosened his posture, and started the conversation over as if nothing had happened. Shay scooted closer to his side. The two exchanged some words, most of what were about some magazings and Magneto. "Oh, and why are you talking to my--" Pietro was quick to shut his mouth. Uh-oh, thought Todd. He squatted down, now fully comsumed in the argument. Things were rough, and it only looked like they were going to get rougher. Pyro cought Pietro's slip up after a moment, and he grinned. Todd watched with wide eyes as the fiery haired teen spoke to Shay. "Wouldn't ya, mate?" That set off Pietro. Todd began to wonder if this John guy was simply itching for a fight, or really really dumb. Without hesitation, his teammate grabbed Pyro by the shirt and began agressively shoving him back until he was knocked into a tree. "I swear to God...if you tell my father... anything..." "Hey, cool it man", Todd piped up, jumping over to them. "Can't this be settled in a none-violent way?" He placed his webbed hand on Pietro's shoulder, hoping he could convince him to back off. |

"Hey, cool it man", Todd piped up, jumping over to them. "Can't this be settled in a none-violent way?" Pietro turned as he felt Todd's webbed hand grip him lightly on the shoulder. He let out an angry stream of air through his nose as he gave one last glare at John. "Whatever." He took a step away from John, grabbing Shay's wrist and pulling her a few feet away as well. "Were you here for any specific reason, Allerdyce? Or did they finally decide they couldn't put up with you any longer? Did you get kicked out of the base?" Pietro smirked, but there was no humour behind it. |

A wide grin spread across Pyro's face, sparking the gleam in his eyes as he silently cackled as Pietro pulled away. "Awww...what a nice lil' brother you've got there," he smirked. "Managin' ta actually get you to back off an be all 'non-violent'. Priceless." He actually did break into audible laughter as he watched Pietro back off, pulling Shay along with him; amusement shining in his eyes. "Take it easy, mate," he said, mockingly holding up his hands in surrender. "I'm not 'ere to start somethin' up...especially not with your girl. Though I gotta admit, she is a cutie." He winked at her, getting met with a dangerous glare for reply. "I was just takin' a stroll, ya know?" he continued, the casualness of his voice betraying the malicious glimmer in his eyes. "Just got bored, nothin' ta do at the base at the moment, and so I just went on off to find my own fun. Then I though': Hey, no ones been 'round to check up on the loons over at the boardin' house so I headed this way. Was actually about ta give the door a ring, but then I saw your girl sittin' up in a tree with a cat." His smirk only widened as he assured, "'Course, I didn't know it was your girl at the time--just thought I'd introduce meself to 'er and make sure she wasn't stuck up there like the kitty...and then froggy boy came out to join in on the fun." He paused. "But why so interested mate?" he asked in an almost normal tone--an eerie tone for him to have. "Wantin' ta come back to the base and see the goings on there for yourself? I'm sure your daddy dearest would be delighted ta 'ave you back." |

Shay had been standing there for several moments in silence, watching the scene play out as if she weren't apart of it--as if this was just some crazy late-night show that she was watching on TV where pieces of the plot had yet to be completely revealed. It was confusing...it was torturous in that way that shows can pull off...but in this case, she was almost afraid to find out. "...Pietro?" Her voice sounded almost strange to her, as if she really was speaking to him through a sheet of glass. She hoped that it didn't sound as weird to him as it did to her, that it maybe only sounded that way because of the sudden motion of being pulled back. When Pyro spoke of her, she shot a glare in his direction; liking him less and less with each passing second. It was a strange feeling to her, this vibe of distrust and dislike, and she didn't like it one bit. There was just something about him that rubbed her the wrong way...and some of the things he was saying were just too.... "Pietro," she repeated, this time a bit more firmly as she ignored Pyro completely for a moment and met Pietro's eyes. And that's where she almost faltered again. Before she could let herself slip completely, she finally just asked the question that had been running rampant through her mind for minutes now. "...What is going on?" And if he looked in her eyes, he would be able to tell that she was looking for more than just an answer to her question. She was looking for truth. Edited by Shay, May 20 2010, 11:39 PM.

"I was just takin' a stroll, ya know?" he continued, the casualness of his voice betraying the malicious glimmer in his eyes. Pietro narrowed his eyes, still wondering if Magneto had something to do with Pyro's little visit. He turned to Shay at the sound of his name. She looked confused and worried, as well as more than a little upset. Pietro lowered his gaze, feeling guilt bubble up in his chest. There was so much that he hadn't told her; so much that he wasn't allowed to tell her... also, much of which he didn't want to tell her. It wasn't that he was being forced to report to his father, because it was always through his free will that he gave the information, but somewhere deep inside, he knew that he was betraying his teammates in a way. The information was never anything too important, but it was just the fact that they didn't know. "But why so interested mate?" he asked in an almost normal tone--an eerie tone for him to have. "Wantin' ta come back to the base and see the goings on there for yourself? I'm sure your daddy dearest would be delighted ta 'ave you back." Pietro ignored John, his jaw set in an angry clench. "Pietro," she repeated, this time a bit more firmly as she ignored Pyro completely for a moment and met Pietro's eyes. "...What is going on?" "Shay, it's nothing," He turned to her, completely forgetting that John was still standing next to him. "Both of you," he turned to nod at Todd as well. "It's nothing to worry about, and everything's under control." |

"Shay, it's nothing," Pietro, no... "Both of you," Don't lie to him...to me...please... "It's nothing to worry about, and everything's under control." Shay didn't say anything for a moment, simply watching Pietro as he spoke, her eyes searching his face for even the slightest emotions to pick up on. She couldn't understand why he was bothering to deny it now, as Pyro's presence alone pointed strongly to the contrary. Never mind the things that Pyro had said. Why won't he talk to me? she wondered desperately to herself, hurt melting into the worry she already had for the situation. It was more than clear to her at this point that it had something to do with Magneto...which was more than enough to make her suspicious and upset. There were so many things about him that Shay hated, that she would have given the world and then some to change about him, namely in the way he treated Pietro. But that was just it: she couldn't understand why Pietro was willing to do so much for a man that had done nothing but use him throughout the course of his life. I know he's Pietro's dad, but...that's not how a father is supposed to treat his son. It's just...not. "...Fine." she said at last, her eyes never once having left his face. "That's...fine. I'm glad that things are under control." Her voice was full of resignation, though she actually managed a slight smile. She suddenly reached out, touching the side of his face lightly, as she let her thumb caress over his cheekbone. "If...if they start to not be quite so in control, though...if you need help with anything, I...well, you know where to find me." She held her hand to his face for a fraction of a moment longer, before finally drawing it back and turning her attention to Pyro. "As for you...I don't know who you are, but I want you to leave. Now." The anger she felt deep beneath everything else she was feeling came shining to the surface; fixated on the orange-haired mutant. "And I'd prefer not to see you here again." She moved to turn from him as well when her eyes suddenly rested on Todd, and they softened instantly as she reached him. "And hey, if you still want to get out for a bit later, just let me know. The laundry shouldn't take me too much longer to finish." She ruffled his hair again lightly, this time more trying to straighten back out what she'd done before, when her eyes slipped back over to Pietro. She held the gaze for only a moment, though, before she let it slip and she headed back towards the house. |

"...Fine." she said at last, her eyes never once having left his face. "That's...fine. I'm glad that things are under control." Though Pietro hadn't known what to expect, this certainly wasn't the type of answer he had been expecting. He froze as she reached out and caressed the side of his face, feeling her thumb brush against his cheek just below his eye. He was strangely reminded of the incident with Adrian and Marina, and how he had wiped the tears from her cheeks. He wasn't crying, but he almost felt that he should have been, just so it would be complete. "If...if they start to not be quite so in control, though...if you need help with anything, I...well, you know where to find me." Her hand finally slipped away, and Pietro was hit with a wave of guilt. She knew he was keeping secrets from her, and she was willing to forget about it and accept things as they were. She turned away and addressed John first, and then Todd. Pietro barely even registered what she had said to the other two, never taking his eyes off her, and feeling like he was in a dazed state where only she and his guilt existed. "Shay..." He said quietly, reaching out to touch her, then left his hands awkwardly in the air between them, feeling like he had no right to touch her at all. "Shay," Pietro began again, with a bit more clarity. "I'm... I'm sorry. You know my father. What am I supposed to do?" He always acted arrogant and superior when it came to other people, but Shay always made him feel weak, and somehow he felt bad about things that he wouldn't care about if it were any other person. When it came to Shay, she could make him feel so much. She made him feel better than anyone else, and she could also make him feel worse than anyone else could. Pietro wished that John wasn't there so he could tell her everything. He would now. He couldn't stand having her look at him like that. "Don't look at me like that..." He said, voicing his thoughts aloud. "Don't be mad. Please." |

Shay hadn't taken two steps towards the boarding house when the soft sound of her own name reached her ears, causing her to freeze where she stood. There was just something about that voice...that familiar, yet somehow foreign-sounding voice.... She looked back just as Pietro's hands stopped in mid-air, extended towards her. He didn't even need to say anything further. That motion alone was more than enough to cause her eyes to widen in concern and make a two-stride step seem like one as she got herself close enough to reach out and take his hands. Giving them a gentle squeeze, she carefully guided him closer to her (and further away from the other two); not wanting to be overheard. "Pietro--" "Shay," Pietro began again, with a bit more clarity. "I'm... I'm sorry. You know my father. What am I supposed to do?" He felt another gentle squeeze applied to his hands, this one with more reassurance, as Shay offered a very light smile and actually met his eyes. "You're right...I do," she near whispered to him, her eyes holding his in a gentle yet still resigned gaze. "I've never actually met him before, but I know a lot about him...through you." Her voice got even quieter as she closed what little space their was between them, barely leaving an inch of room as she leaned close to his ear. "I know that he's your dad...and to say that he hasn't been the greatest would be more than an understatement. I know that you feel guilty, but you still can't--or won't--tell him no. And I've seen the pain of all of it in your eyes before." She pulled back from his ear, her eyes moving back to his as she continued. "...And I know that I really have no right to tell you to do anything. I don't want to tell you what to do. I just wish that...once in awhile...I wouldn't have to find out about all of it from seeing you upset, or guilty, or hurt. I wish you felt like you could talk to me." She had to look away, because in that moment, she felt furious. Not at him, oh no, but at Magneto. In that moment she hated him with a passion she'd never known before. Well, at least not when it came to hatred. But that was just it: the only thing that had ever come close in comparison was how much she loved Pietro. The challenge now was to ask herself: which did she feel more? "Don't look at me like that..." He said, voicing his thoughts aloud. "Don't be mad. Please." Her head snapped back up to look at him, all traces of anger gone from her face as she quickly shook her head. "Oh Pietro, I'm not--I wasn't mad at you before, I promise...and I'm really not mad at you now." Without even thinking twice she wrapped her arms around him, pulling him into a loving, yet tight hug. With a soft smile, she whispered into his ear, "I just love you...so much...that it's hard to not be selfish when it comes to you." She pulled back a little, her eyes cast down this time. "I say 'I want' way too much when it comes to you...without even thinking about what you want half the time. And I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am for that. It's like what Adrian had tried to do; he tried to take me away because he thought it's what's best for me, even though I didn't and still don't want to leave. And I'm really no better with this. Here I am wanting you to basically betray Magneto because I think it would make you happier in the long run." She shook her head lightly, giving a short, humorless attempt at a laugh. "But it really doesn't matter at the end of the day what I want...just like it really doesn't matter what Adrian wants, in the end. I'm staying here because I want to." She finally met his eyes again, and for the first time her's filled with raw, unconditional love. "So now...I want you to do what you want to. Which is still pretty terrible since I still used the words 'I want' but...god, I hope you understand." She couldn't be sure if he ever would, but she hoped that somehow...just maybe...he would be able to tell the words she'd left unspoken at the end: that I love you more than I hate Magneto...so I'm not going to try to make your choices for you. And then she smiled, a true, genuine smile, as she slowly let him go. "Like I said...you know where to find me if you need me." Her lips met his in a kiss, a sweet yet far-too short kiss, as she slowly drew back from him. She glanced over at Pyro and Todd briefly, hoping that they hadn't heard much (if any) of what she said, but somehow even that didn't seem to matter much at the moment. I'm no better than Magneto at times like this, she thought to herself sadly, recalling all too well the way Pietro sounded when he first called her name. But at least Pietro knows now that I'm not going to let what I want stand in his way...and I can try to hope that Magneto might one day show him the same courtesy. I wish you felt like you could talk to me." "I do feel like I can talk to you!" Pietro protested right away. "I just don't know what I'm allowed to talk about and what I'm not allowed to talk about, so it makes things complicated." It suddenly hit Pietro that it was unbelievable how lucky he was to have a girl like Shay. She was really smart (especially compared to some of the girls he had dated before her), but she never tried to control him or manipulate him. Even in a situation like the one he found himself in now, she didn't try to force him to tell her anything, and yet she still trusted him. "I don't want you to be mad or upset about it, so if it's going to be... well I'm not sure what I'd do but..." "Oh Pietro, I'm not--I wasn't mad at you before, I promise...and I'm really not mad at you now." Pietro was a bit shocked when she stepped towards him and pulled him into a tight hug. She had just found out that he had been keeping secrets from her, and still she was able to be affectionate toward him. "I just love you...so much...that it's hard to not be selfish when it comes to you." She pulled back a little, her eyes cast down this time. Here I am wanting you to basically betray Magneto because I think it would make you happier in the long run." Pietro gave a bitter laugh. "Yeah, it probably would make me happier in the long run. Oh, scratch that. It would probably make me happier in the short run as well." He could just imagine how much less stressful his life would be if he didn't have to be constantly trying to meet the expectations of his father; if he didn't even have to deal with his father at all. "But it really doesn't matter at the end of the day what I want...just like it really doesn't matter what Adrian wants, in the end. I'm staying here because I want to. So now...I want you to do what you want to. Which is still pretty terrible since I still used the words 'I want' but...god, I hope you understand. Like I said...you know where to find me if you need me." A kiss was more than Pietro had hoped for considering how angry he had thought she would be. Even a hug had been surprising, but it appeared that Shay was full of surprises -- as she always was for Pietro. As she drew away, Pietro almost decided to pull her back into the kiss, but suddenly remembered the other two boys standing not too far from them. "You know, sometimes I think you need to care more about what you want and less about what other people want. I mean, I care about myself enough without having you drench me in love as well," Pietro laughed, but then gave her a look that he meant what he said on some level. |

"You know, sometimes I think you need to care more about what you want and less about what other people want. I mean, I care about myself enough without having you drench me in love as well.” Shay bit down on the inside of her cheek, having to look away from him when he said that. She knew that he really was just meaning well by it, but she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of…almost annoyance. He didn’t seem to be taking much of anything that she was saying truly to heart—or at least, didn’t seem to be looking beyond the words themselves and into the chaos behind them. “God you really don’t get it, do you?” she asked, the anguish in her voice matched only by defeat. “You do but for some reason…reasons that I can’t even begin to understand…or maybe I’m the one that just doesn’t get it. You know what? Fine. It’s just fine.” She turned away from him, breaking away from him completely as she turned and took a few steps away from him; her hands clenching lightly at her sides. His words came rushing back to her, bit by bit, driving her even closer to the edge than before. "I do feel like I can talk to you!" Pietro protested right away. "I just don't know what I'm allowed to talk about and what I'm not allowed to talk about, so it makes things complicated." Pietro, are you really that incapable of actually standing on your own two feet? What in the world is Magneto holding over you to make you have to think like that? Why would you WANT something like that in your life? "Yeah, it probably would make me happier in the long run. Oh, scratch that. It would probably make me happier in the short run as well." You know that it would be! I know it would be! Pietro why are you doing this to yourself? Never mind what it’s doing to me…. She honestly hadn’t been feeling exactly ‘stable’ after that confrontation with Adrian in the back yard, and it seemed that Fate was determined to break her down, somehow, bit by bit. She was trying to fight it, she was trying to stay strong and be supportive…but there’s only so much a person can give before there’s nothing left to them at all. “I’m sorry,” she said, her voice hardly above a whisper as she felt tears stinging the back of her eyes; refusing to let them show and fall. “Like I said…it’s fine…you said it’s under control…and I…really just need to believe you at this point. So guess what? I will.” She looked back at him, her arms wrapped tightly around herself as she gave him a look that suggested she wanted to run back and kiss him again just as much as she wanted to run as far and as fast as she could away from him. “I want to help you,” she said, her voice with a surprising note of firmness to it. “But I’m starting to think that I really won’t be able to…until you’re willing to help yourself. If you do…I’ll be here. If you don’t…well, I’ll still be here…provided you want me to be.” And with that she turned and, without looking back, half ran back into the house; the tears already soaking her face by the time she got the door shut behind her. |

“God you really don’t get it, do you?” she asked, the anguish in her voice matched only by defeat. “You do but for some reason…reasons that I can’t even begin to understand…or maybe I’m the one that just doesn’t get it. You know what? Fine. It’s just fine.” Pietro blinked in confusion at her sudden change in tone. One second she was happily kissing him and gazing at him lovingly, and the next second she was frustrated and fed up with him. Pietro couldn't figure it out. He was tempted to make a comment about never being able to understand girls, but figured it would probably only make the situation worse. She turned away from him, the tension in her stance visible. Thoughts swirled frantically in Pietro's head as he tried to figure out what he could have possibly said to set her off in such a short period of time. He knew that she had been a bit on edge since the confrontation with her brother, but things had been seeming to get better and Pietro had thought that Shay was starting to settle back to normal. Pietro had never seen Shay break down quite like this. He'd seen her get upset, but he couldn't recall a single time where she had been genuinely angry. "Shay... you're right. I, uh... I really don't get it actually. You said it was fine, but now it sounds like it isn't fine... and if it's not fine, well, I don't want to be fine with that," Pietro said rather awkwardly, unsure of how to proceed without making her more angry. “I’m sorry,” she said, her voice hardly above a whisper as she felt tears stinging the back of her eyes; refusing to let them show and fall. “Like I said…it’s fine…you said it’s under control…and I…really just need to believe you at this point. So guess what? I will.” Pietro ran a hand through his hair, far beyond caring about the appearance of his hair. He was so confused at this point that he didn't even know what to say. If she wouldn't just say what she wanted then how was he supposed to know what to do? Pietro wished he had been blessed with telepathy instead of superspeed in that moment. “I want to help you,” she said, her voice with a surprising note of firmness to it. “But I’m starting to think that I really won’t be able to…until you’re willing to help yourself. If you do…I’ll be here. If you don’t…well, I’ll still be here…provided you want me to be.” Pietro watched as she walked as quickly as she could back into the house, and away from him. It had been hard enough watching her get hurt by her brother, but being the one behind the cause of her pain was unbearable. "I don't want anything other than you," he answered in a whisper only to himself. |
