The air was cool and smelled faintly of chlorine, due to the pool. James, in dog form, layed on one of the chairs that sat by the pool, letting the rays of the sun warm him. It felt good to be outside. Though it was winter, it was alot warmer that day than normal. He was hoping something exciting would happen, but he also didn't want to get up from his spot. He really didn't know what he wanted, actually. He looked up, hearing the noise of the mansion doors open, and footsteps coming his way. He wondered who it could be. |

Claire sat down wordlessly on one of the chairs, and began to absent mindedly pat the dog form. "You know, you're at least four times cuter in this form..." she said, but without much flavour to her words. Winter (this term meaning those couple of months after Christmas) always seemed to make her lacklustre. It seemed like there was either so much, or so little to do. Currently it was the latter, and nothing would take up her attention for long enough. |

The dog made an annoyed noise and looked at Claire. Getting up from his seat he transformed back into human and sat back down. "What are you doing out here?" He asked. "I figured not many other people would come near the pool...Guess that means I need another hiding place" |

"Your hiding place is a public area?" Claire asked, eyebrows raised. "And, pardon me my noseyness, but why are you hiding?" Her eyes narrowed into mock slits, "You're not off angsting, are you?" She folded her arms and stared directly at him. |

He gave a sigh and rolled his eyes. "Its the middle of winter, and though its sort of a warm day, I figured not many people would be out here" He explained. "And technically I'm not really hiding, just trying to get in some alone time" |

"Oh! Oh! Same here!" Claire said, rolling her eyes. "Tell you what - we can have alone time together!" She leaned back onto the cement around the pool, wriggling contentedly against the firm ground. "And it is really, really warm for winter. Thank goodness for the increased amount of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere, no?" |

"Umm...Yeah..." He said, doing a thumbs up motion. "And when people have alone time...Isn't it usually...Alone?" |

"Appreciate irony, or it'll strike like a rabid beast when you expect it least. You could be at the alter, waiting for your bride when suddenly she comes out with, 'oh, I think I'd rather marry alone', and that's when you realise that irony always come back to bite you in the ass." Claire rambled on cheerfully, noting gleefully the incredulous look on James' face. She waved a scolding finger at James. "Would you care to appreciate some irony then, or would you prefer to get left at the alter?" |

"I have no idea at all what you just said" He said, scratching his head. "But yeah...You can stay...I don't mind, I was getting bored anyway" |

"Would you like something to eat then? A dictionary, maybe?" Claire asked sarkily, waving her hands audaciously at James. "The slowly but surely decreasing vocabulary of today's youth is something which must be avoided. Plus, the more fancy words I use, the more intimidating I become," Claire added thoughtfully. "What d'you want to do?" |

James laid down on the chair and covered his eyes with his hands and let out a deep sigh. "I want to sit here, being bored" He stated. "Because there is nothing at all to do in this stupid mansion..." He stated. "Thats also the reason I was out here, because the mansion was so...BLEH today...Everyone in there seemed so...Bleh" |

"Again, your vocabulary astounds me..." Claire shrugged. "And if you're so against the mansion and its occupants today, why don't we - Oh, I don't know - leave the mansion? Come on we could... go shopping?" Claire laughed inwardly, this would receive some interesting responses. |

"...YOU...Plus...SHOPPING?" He asked, his mouth hanging open. "Claire, I had no IDEA YOU were interested in...SHOPPING" He said, a shocked expression on his face. |

Claire's face looked almost confused, although for most part her face looked the same as usual - fairly mocking, and with a contagious air of superiority. "Ah... not to use a stereotype here, but... oh, to hell with it. Using a stereotype, the majority of girls do like shopping. In this case, I so happen to be part of the majority. I take it from this reaction that you are not part of the minority of males who do like shopping?" |

"No...I like shopping" He said. "And you know, I was joking...And sure, lets go shopping, I need new clothes" |
