Name: Raven Darkholme Nickname{s}: Mystique...And anything else she wishes. Mutation: There are things about a woman that she will tell no one and other things she will flaunt and show off. Mystique, as she is wont to call herself, is perhaps one of the shiftiest mutants in the world. In more ways than one, actually. Her mutation is that of a shape-shifter, and one that is not limited to mockery and acting. Facets of her mutation are almost beyond belief, but then, what isn’t in this world? Now you see me...; Raven Darkholme controls her mutation by thought. A single thought and her body will mold itself into a new form, anything her mind can imagine. No illusion is this; no, she becomes a true copy of whoever she wishes to become. There are few limits to this power; she can change her hair color, eye color, body shape, even her gender. Hair cuts are pointless to a woman who can make her hair any way she desires. More than is the ability to change her voice into anything she wishes. In effect, if she looks like you, and meets with you face-to-face, it is entirely possible that your best friends – even YOU – will not know who is who. Now you don’t...; Because of this amazing shifting power, she does not age like other people. It has even been thought that she may not age, since she can effectively reverse it. Her bones are stronger than normal, although not unbreakable...More like bendable. She can make her body into the equivalent of human silly putty, even to the point of melting underneath door jambs. There is one limit to this gift. Her body density must stay the same. To become a larger man, she will spread out, but become less dense. Packing her atoms into a smaller space makes the density of her body become tighter. And you thought you knew me...; There is one last facet to her power...At least, one last one to be explained fully. Healing. Because she can change her body into anything, she can actually heal her own wounds. Smaller injuries, like a cut or bruise are easily remedied, but those that are larger take much longer; even she isn’t immune to it. However, since she is usually incredibly hard to catch, she doesn’t get hurt much. But, should she, it takes a helluva lot to kill her. She is naturally immune to all pathogens and poisons, and effectively does not age at all, much like the mutation of Wolverine. Age: Don’t you wish you knew? Ask, and you will receive the answer of late 30s, early 40s. In truth, she was born in 1924. Date Of Birth: {Month && Day} October 31 – Mention Halloween, and prepared to be kicked. Painfully. Father’s Name: Dominik Darkholme Mother’s Name: Eleanora Darkholme Siblings: None Children: Kurt Wagner [Nightcrawler] Physical Appearance: Unlike most women, Mystique is without a doubt perfect in every way. At least, as long as she chooses to be. Because of her shifting abilities, she could look like anyone...From an old, grizzled sailor, to that gorgeous auburn haired woman sitting at the other end of the bar. But none of these are her true appearance. When around those who know her for who and what she is, Raven prefers to be in her true body. The sight is one that can shock even those who have heard of her, for words cannot truly capture the incredible appearance of her. Beauty: She stands at an even five foot, eight inches, with broad shoulders and high carriage that give her a bearing that makes her seem much taller. Her chest is not overpowering, in fact, some may consider her breasts quite small. Leading to a slender waist with a stomach that shows a hint of a six-pack, the eyes can find a pair of legs that never end. Or at least, you won’t want them to. Her entire body is packed with more muscle than one can imagine, and would make a model jealous. Beast: Given just this, one must think that this woman is a creation to rival Eve, the first woman ever created. At least, until one discovers the truth behind the beauty. The taut skin that covers her lithe form is the astonishing color of...Blue. Rivaling the ocean’s cerulean smoothness, it is silky and soft to the touch, while making the sky weep of its inadequacy. Strong scales, almost armor, are usually present on her body, hiding the parts of her that she would prefer hidden while wandering. The hair that crowns her head is a vibrant red-orange, the color of a forest fire at its peak. Eyes that seem as if to peer through your soul are poisonous yellow. Acidic and deadly, the yellow covers even the whites and the pupils of her orbs, making it impossible to see the outline between her irises and pupils. Personality: Raven Darkholme is an enigma, a woman that cannot be described in mere words. The intricacies of her persona are nearly impossible to explain, but some things can remain a constant even in this ever shifting being. Her face and expression, whether on her own face or that of someone she has become, is practically unreadable, unless she chooses to express something to you. Should she deem in necessary, Mystique can show absolutely nothing about her emotions on her face, as if she were wearing a marble mask. Perhaps amusement glittering in her strange eyes, or the hint of a smirk at the corners of her blue lips, but she can easily hide such things. Unlike many people, she has the tendency to skip small-talk, usually driving straight to her point. Wasting words is pointless to her, and she may stay quieter than one can believe. People who chatter annoy her, especially if they chatter about inconsequential things. Words are saved for when they are truly needed – but make no mistake, when she does talk, wisdom usually colors the words. Her trust is irreplaceable...And nearly impossible to earn. However, she can be trusted with anything. For those people she deems important in her life, she would take a bullet for. So far, few people have reached this status; Magneto and Rogue being two of the most well known. Mystique is quite possibly a genius, and is much more intelligent than people give her credit for. She can maintain a façade indefinitely, proving that she is probably more talented an actress than most people in Hollywood. To her way of thinking, humans are pathetic and weak, and her loathing for them goes deeper than one can imagine. History: Mystique has a long and complex history. Her age is unknown and, because of her shape-shifting abilities, she herself does not age past the appearance of a woman in her twenties. When she was born in Germany, both of her parents were appalled and disgusted at having given birth to a mutant, and she grew up in an orphanage. She discovered her powers at a young age and, so that she could have a normal life, took the appearance of a girl with black hair, light blue eyes, and pale skin; the orphanage named her Raven Darkholme, a name which stuck. Able to shape-shift into whoever she wanted during her life, she became married to a Baron Christian Wagner, a wealthy man who was able to provide his ‘loving’ wife with whatever she needed. Although she enjoyed this life, she felt that it was rather lacking when it came to Christian’s performance in the bedroom, and became bored quickly – she soon resorted to shape-shifting again, and had numerous lovers. One of these lovers, a fellow mutant named Azazel - who had red skin, yellow eyes and a pointed tail – gave her a child, a son. Upon her pregnancy, Christian became highly suspicious. When she gave birth, it was discovered that the baby had blue skin like his mother, black hair and a pointed tail like his father, and yellow eyes, which were shared by both of his parents. The townspeople, accusing Mystique and her new born baby to be demons, tried to kill them, so she fled. Mystique abandoned her son, Kurt Wagner, before long, leaving him to be discovered by the gypsy Margali Szardos. She soon left Germany, and traveled to America, having learnt English whilst enjoying her rich, luxurious life as the wife of Baron Wagner. Using shape-shifting again, she was able to impersonate many people in rich, influential jobs – after killing the real people off – and eventually, with all the money she had stolen, bought herself a house. She soon discovered Professor Charles Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters and what it entailed, though a job in the United States Government, and then found out about Eric Lensherr, who – in her opinion – had a better view as to what should happen to the humans. She sought him out, and soon rose up through the ranks of the Brotherhood to become Magneto’s second in command, which was helped considerably by the fact that she and Magneto became close friends. Reason For Joining The Brotherhood: Mystique is of the opinion that mutants shouldn’t have to live in fear for what they are just because humans are scared of them. She is an obvious mutant – and doesn’t try to hide it unless her life is threatened or she needs to – but because of this, she wants there to be a day when it is the humans who have to hide in terror. Humans are weaker than mutants. Professor X’s approach, she feels, is too slow, and will not have any effect whatsoever before it is too late, so she sided with Magneto because she wants mutant freedom now. |
