Double post wooo!

Check it, this week we have a mandrill on our hands!
Posted Image

Spark Mandrill - Spandrill - Power Plant Stage
In this video, Kester and Golem do the Electric Slide, taunt you with a heart, and get hugged fist-first by a mandrill.

And look, it's everyone's favorite, the bonus video!
Setting Mandrills Aflame
In this video, Kester and Golem don't give Mega Man enough love, don't have Gator Golf growing up, and overall don't do that well against Spark Mandrill.

Somehow I found related videos!
(SHOCKING) ROMANIAN DRIVER ATTEMPTS TO NAVIGATE THE MANDRILL MAZE
(HOPEFUL) SOME JAPANESE BAND IS TRYING TO ENTERTAIN CHILDREN ALREADY TRAPPED IN MANDRILL MAZE

As usual, here's your musics!

The original:
Spark Mandrill Stage (Electromagnetic Power Plant)

The rearrangement:
Spark And Shadow ~POWER PLANT STAGE~

Alright you guys, there's one vote left! Who will be destroyed next, Storm Eagle or Boomer Kuwanger?

My vote goes to Boomer, because he reminds me of a metallic Waluigi who happens to have a boomerang head!

I liked your Ric Flair comment that I did not hear while recording. And the best part is?

I misheard it firstly as Rip Flare, which works with the Fire Ripper persona.

This week we have a non-NFA guest, a mystery man who only goes by the moniker "Anthony"!

Boomer Kuwanger - Boomeranger - Tower Stage
In this video, Anthony and Golem appreciate Storm Eagle's weapon, appreciate the level's ambiance, and appreciate Mega Man's family.

Music, what? Mega Man X music soothes the soul, so lend these tunes your ears:

The original:
Boomer Kuwanger Stage (Fortress Tower)

The rearrangement:
Take Back The Tower ~TOWER STAGE~

Alright, time for the very last maverick vote! Who should I face next: Storm Eagle or Storm Eagle?

Bah, I need to catch up on episodes of this LP soon.

Speaking of Boomer Kuwanger, I really like the arrangement of his theme by The OneUps:

Whoa, that was great. I also checked out their version of Crash Man, which is equally awesome.

Speaking of MM1 influences, the pickaxe enemies in Flame Mammoth's stage are just like the ones in Guts Man's stage.

And the boss gauntlet at the end of the game, you re-fight the Mavericks as you progress through Sigma's fortress rather than being in a teleporter room, just like in MM1.

I haven't played much of MM1, so I didn't know that! That's pretty interesting. Has me wondering though... obviously the bat in Armored Armadillo's stage and the aforementioned pickaxe were callback references, but do you think the way the gauntlet was designed this time around was just as well a deliberate attempt to harken back to the first Mega Man game?

Also, fantastic commentary. I really like the depth that Anthony brought, you two nicely balanced insight with fun. :th^:

I definitely think the gauntlet thing is a callback to Mega Man the first of the name, especially considering the rest of the X series has the standard single-stage boss rush.

I think it's worth noting, though, that Mega Man Zero doesn't follow the approach of Mega Man 1 and Mega Man X1--MMZ has a boss rush all in one stage.

I'm not sure the parallel goes any further, though. Take, for instance, the bosses:
Cut Man - Boomer Kuwanger
Guts Man - ???
Elec Man - Spark Mandrill
Fire Man - Flame Mammoth
Bomb Man - ???
Ice Man - Chill Penguin

Oh well. At least we didn't see Yellow Devil in X1. I am not a fan of him. And, hey, he shows up in X5, which gives me more reason not to like that game.

I guess you could say Boomer Kuwanger's stage is a tall vertical tower like Elec Man's.

It seems like there's been a number of tall, vertical Mega Man stages though, right? ...Even if I can't think of any others off the top of my head that aren't Crash Man.

Anyway--

Storm Eagle - Steagle - Sky Stage
In this video, Nintenfreak and Golem say happy birthday to Flutter, have a light discussion about John Milton's idea of a hero, and list off Steel's weaknesses.
In the words of Nintenfreak: The one where Golem doesn't get a word in edgewise.

Here is Storm Eagle's fantastic stage music:
Storm Eagle Stage (New-type Airport)

And there's no rearrangement of it! So instead, have this rearrangement of the intro stage music that I never posted:
Prologue - Awakening Road ~OPENING: HIGHWAY STAGE~

Whew! That's it--we're onto the endgame here, folks! From here on in we've got four Sigma stages, the final one containing the Big Bad Sigma himself.

Whoa, double post time!

Sigma Fortress Stage 1
In this video, Kester and Golem rip the world apart with Storm Eagle's weapon, screw up their terrible voice acting, and beat the hardest boss in the game.

A 20 minute video! Geez! I hope the other Sigma stages don't make for such long videos.

Unfortunately, Zero isn't the only casualty of this LP. Below is pictured my controller:

My camera isn't all that good, so it might be hard to tell, but the d-pad has fallen off.
RIP awesome Saitek controller, you served me well.

Here is the music for Sigma Fortress stage 1:
Sigma Stage 1 (Palace Grounds)

And here's the arranged version, which I earlier mistook as Launch Octopus music:
Again ~UNDERGROUND STAGE~
