Mega Man & Bass; is not going well.

Alright, so I just started this game FOR SERIOUS. I gave it a shot a few years ago and gave up because I got frustrated. And man, sometimes past me is wrong, but this time, past me is so right.

Between Ground Man's everything (why does that miniboss have so much health?) and Astro Man's amazing disappearing block room (AAAAAAAAAH) I'm struggling to make it past the first three bosses.

Overall, the stages are pretty bad by Mega Man standards (read: by Mega Man standards), but the bosses are alright so far.

So, anyway, am I being a dumbface for getting stuck so early? What do you guys think of this game?

I played a bit of it a few years back. I died a lot at the Museum stage. That shows how "good" I am at this game.

I'll probably try it out again one of these days, but I need to work on some of the previous titles first (I recently bought the Mega Man Anniversary Collection on the GameCube).

I do have to say that the Museum stage theme is really fantastic. :th^:

The museum stage is really weird--there's some pretty difficult jumps, and for some reason there's wind. Wind is perhaps the worst thing you can face in a Mega Man stage, and there it is right at the start.

The difficulty balance in the game overall is real weird, and as a general rule Bass kinda breaks the game.

Anyway, yeah, you definitely want to check out the classic Mega Men first. I would say you can skip 7 and 8, but those games have their fans, so yeah. It'd be cool to hear what you think of the 8 classic Mega Man games, I feel like a lot of people I know have already played them to death.

As of this post, I've made it to the first Wily stage with both Mega Man and Bass. Some of the stages are fun, some aren't, but the bosses are almost all fun (with the exception of Astro Man, who requires way too much precision as Mega Man).

I tried playing it a couple years ago. I'm a Mega Man veteran, beat 1~6 and 8, and even I only managed to defeat Cold Man. Level design's a bit frustrating to say the least.

Are you playing the SNES version or GBA version? The GBA's smaller screen resolution just makes the levels even more difficult.

SNES version, fo shizzle. The GBA one doesn't look as bad as I imagined, though--some games, like Yoshi's Island, feel really weird on the GBA's screen.

I never got a chance to play Megaman and Bass. I did beat all of the original titles though. Bought Anniversary and went through them all in order, it was pretty fun.

I've heard that the GBA's screen does hide some hazards that you'd otherwise be able to see on the SNES version.

Yoshi's Island doesn't feel that weird, come on. ;)

It does. I watched bits of a playthrough of the SNES and GBA versions, and it was pretty apparent in certain parts.
