...Ever played a CD or something while you're playing a videogame and turns out the game fits perfectly with what you're listening to?

This happened to me when I played Nine Inch Nails' "The Downward Spiral" and TOOL's "Lateralus" albums while playing Shadow the Hedgehog a long time ago. NIN's album ironically fit with the game so well that it was like...playing The Wizard of Oz and Pink Floyd's The Wall album at the same time. It was creepy.

If I had the attention span, I would try playing either Aphex Twin's Drukqs or I Care Because You Do album while playing a Sonic game. For some reason, when I listen to "Start as You Mean to Go On", I just imagine Sonic running through an arctic area, and as the music gets rougher, it gets faster and harder. That's why I thought of making a Sonic game that had just Aphex Twin music in it.

A long time ago, I also tend to listen to Stabbing Westward while playing Pokemon. And..yeah.

Metallica and Doom go together like bees and honey.

I also associate the Back to the Future theme with sailing in Wind Waker. That's probably my best memory of the game. Muting wind waker with BTTF playing and in a storm.

These don't really "fit" but I pirated GTA San Andreas the same day Dropkick Murphy's Meanest of Times CD came out, and played the crap out of both at the same time. So if I'm playing GTA:SA I subconsciously want to listen to the Meanest of Times. Likewise, when I listen to that CD, my mind reverts back to flying a fighter jet in the desert and shooting missiles at cars.

This also doesn't fit, but when playing Solitaire on my ipod years back, in order to make sure I didn't have to exit the game to change the song, I put on Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. So I guess I associate Solitaire and Joseph too.

That's all I can think of right now. But I approve of this topic.

I don't usually do that, 'cause I want to listen to the music that was composed for the game in its original context. I think the only time I've done that was that I played a CD while I was playing Tony Hawk, and I turned off the music in Tony Hawk to keep the sound effects. That was just whatever music I would choose to skate to, though, since the game has a soundtrack of licensed music to begin with.

Speaking of licensed songs, that also reminds how I just recently burned a CD of my favorite songs appearing in GTA Vice City. And then I was driving the other day listening to Video Kill The Radio Star, and a motor cycle was coming the other way, and I was thinking "This brings back memories. I should swerve into the other lane and hit him head on and steal his motorcycle!"

I have that thought often whenever I see a motor cycle though. Like, everytime I see a motor cycle coming towards me. But I always gets grounded back into reality when I realize "You fool! Real life isn't like a video game! You don't know HOW to ride a motorcycle!"
