This was sorta inspired from the black/white topic but I didn't want to topic derail that. Why isn't there a pokemon adventure game that's all awesome? Why are they still in those overheard little worlds? I remember wanting an awesome pokemon adventure game back in the N64 days, which I thought Pokemon Stadium was going to be. But that sorta fell short of the expectations I had. Sure the battles were nice, but there was no exploration involved. Wouldn't it be awesome if they made a pokemon game that had graphics similar to Zelda? Heck, I'm envisioning Majora's Mask type graphics, not even Wii graphics. I just think it would so cool to be walking though the brush and you SEE the pokemon. And instead of choosing to run away, you actually do get to run away. Or you can just walk around it and avoid it, so you don't have to constantly fight level 2 caterpies. Or like, looking up into a tree and just seeing a pidgey there and if you want to capture it you have to throw something at it to get it down. And heck, the world would look much nicer. And I would also prefer it just be the original 150, maybe the next 100 after that, but not the 5 billion they have now. And if this has been invented and I am unaware tell me how I can acquire this. |

Pokemon XD and Colosseum is somewhat like this, although there really isn't any wild Pokemon. Just "Shadow Pokemon".

Yeah, XD and Colosseum are disappointingly linear RPGs that don't involve any of the inventiveness that Kester's looking for. Basically, Kester, everyone's wondering the same thing as you. |

Yeah, if there was something like Kester's asking for, I'd play it.

It's 'cause Pokemon can't be taken seriously enough for developers to actually make such a game.

I like the way the games look myself. It's their style, it works. I don't need an expansive 3D overworld to explore to be happy. I'm fine with hidden Itemfinder items and Strength Puzzles. I care more about, you know, the Pokemon.

Graphic-wise? They did. Twice. They called them Pokemon XD and Pokemon Colosseum. |

Well, I looked at a video on youtube of pokemon XD, and...that's not exactly what I was envisioning. I guess it IS a 3d graphics version of pokemon, but I was imagining new gameplay elements and a more interactive environment. But yeah, I guess i'm not the first person to think of this idea. |
