...Is it just me, or does anyone else think they're changing the starter types? It honestly looks more like Flying/Electric/Ground than Fire/Water/Grass.

They're just silhouettes, so I wouldn't be too worried about it anyway.

Oh, so it isn't Flying/Electric, whatever. I dunno, I like the Grass one. The other ones look freaky. |

Here's some advice though Timnis, if you don't like Pokemon, then...don't post. Seriously. I doubt fanta and Al care about your opinion, to be quite frank. |

They outta go back to 151 but make up new moves. And make it slightly more balanced so Abrakabraraalakazam isn't overpowered.

I think Toby's right on the money about this. You're free to not like the series, of course, but if you think the designs have gotten worse, it's probably observer bias on your part. Don't get me wrong, the designs were a shock to me when I first saw them, but they always are. The truth of the matter is, you're just older. When you're ten, anything looks brilliant, and that nostalgia bias carries over. Personally, I'm going with Wotter. Even though it's blatantly designed to capitalize on Piplup's popularity and cuteness (yes, cuteness, you're not in their demographic), it's also a badass otter. Kester, there is no reason they'd WANT to go back to 151. They would stop making money. Think about it like this: You are in their periphery demographic. It's not that they don't value you as a customer, or your opinion, but kids like NEW Pokémon (don't tell me you didn't freak out when you learned about Mew or Marill). They make a lot more money from kids than they do you. I'm going to list a few names, and then tell you what they have in common: Pichu Marill Suicune Lugia Torchic Plusle Minun Piplup Munchlax Bonsly Lucario What do all those Pokémon have in common? They are highly marketable. Nintendo makes a buttload of money off of Pokémon 152 and up. It'd be stupid for them to not keep making new ones every 4 years. The thread's there, I have an opinion on the matter, it's relevant, so I can post if I want to, regardless of whether or not I'm going against the grain or whether or not anyone cares what I have to say. I haven't been adamant about anything, just... posting my opinion. WW and Nintf made much better and more relevant points than just going "YOU'RE GETTING WORSE AND WORSE" and then attempting to kick me out of the thread. @Nintf: It really is true, I suppose. If I think about it, the old Pokemon designs and names weren't really much better than the new ones. A bit, perhaps, because they were starting from scratch then and didn't have to worry about possibly doing anything too similar to ones from an older group, but really they've been more or less in the same vain. And yeah, cash does indeed rule everything around us. |

I'm not quite sure what a marill is, but I guess I was happy with the discovery of the new pokemon Mew and Missingno. Anyways, of the pokemon you listed I only knew Pichu, Lugia, Suicune, and Lucario (I found out about him in SSB.). Oh, and munchlax I don't quite know, but I assume it's like a super snorlax? And they should add Missingno as a new pokemon. That would be gnarly. But I think I have every right to complain to Nintendo about the fact that they aren't making a game specific to my demanding demands. Besides, my idea can be used to promote an environmently friendly message! Imagine: Due to overhunting, all the other pokemon (but 151 + Missingno) went extinct. And now global warming raised the sea levels and took out all the cities from the other games. And to beat the game you have to go to a toxic waste dump from the abandoned power plant, and you have to fight the toxic waste dump in a battle (it has tons of HP but can only use poison attacks. But the waste dump can use more than 4 attacks, and it will have a special Toxic attack that works against Poison types). Now THAT is a money maker. ....And if they did make that game just for me to make me happy, there is also the chance that I would end up pirating it. Edited by Kester, May 16 2010, 12:57 PM.
