I'm not a really strict christian, so I am not going to follow it word for word. There are a lot of contradictions and its better to just interpret it the way you want.

If you interpret the way you want how do you know what truly is the word of the Lord?

Eh, there's way too many religions to believe that one is going to be so much more accurate than another... That's not to say that there's one more religion out there that's going to be less accurate than another... That's also not to say that there aren't some religions out there that probably shouldn't even be religions...

I'm good at not saying much.

But, yeah, interpret the way you feel is best, I say. Considering it's been said that we can't comprehend God's ways. No sense trying to follow a religion from the words or a book made by people who couldn't fully comprehend God's ways anyways. Gotta find your own beliefs to believe in.

You're either an elitist agnostic or an idiot. Or both.

Allah almighty Alc are you ever gonna stop these religion topics. I'm just gonna quote someone else on this.

"Religion is rather outdated in our society. God does not equal religion though, and I don't think people really get this. God is a free floating idea that's really different to most everyone. It gives order to something that makes no fucking sense by our understanding. The best part about all of this is religion is just being replaced by these stupid pseudo-intellectuals who think they know all the answers because there's scientific theories out there that they don't even understand. Congratulations, you have the internet. Now you have all the answers.

Dark energy, dark matter, and ten million other unexplained things in the universe say "fuck you" to our modern science. Maybe like so many other things out there, god is just waiting to be proven by science. But who in the fuck really cares? You'll be dying eventually, and then you'll have your answer."

It's like you just saw the word science and you saw the word God and all the other letters flew above your head like all the science you don't understand. And the conversations I've had with you show you really don't. I really hope you grow out of this phase sometime soon so maybe you can actually have some nice, intelligent discussions on religion every once in a while.

No, I read it. So you're calling me a pseudo intellectual, at least you're implying it. That's really funny. I never said I know every single scientific theory about this. So you really, REALLY think that God is out there waiting to be proven? Seriously? Really? I mean, I don't know if this is what you believe but you quoted this guy as if he was your argument.

Also, I don't know if you think this, but I want there to be a loving God and when we die we go to a magical paradise. If we proved that there was a God, I'll be down on my knees praying for forgiveness wanting to get into his exclusive afterlife club.

I don't think you really understand, and I'm not sure if I can explain this very well, but I'll try...let's see...

The idea of a God hasn't just always been there. Someone had to of been like "Well, we don't have answers for this yet...we need to make something up to explain it."

The foundation of a God or Gods is to explain shit we can't. That doesn't sound logical to me PERSONALLY, and I don't see how it seems logical to anyone else in the 20th century. Sounds logical if we were living in the 1600s, though.

Really grow out of this phase? I don't see what you mean by that.

Do you remember what it was like before you were born? If you said no to this, what LOGICAL explanation can you provide for an afterlife? (This isn't really relevant but he said you'll find out when you die.)

Yeah I know I come across as a retarded ultra atheist who is so totally against everyone's beliefs that aren't mine, but I'm really not. I don't particularly think you're a smart person if you believe in creationism, but it's not my problem. Now if you start talking about this shit in front of me I'm gonna NERDRAGE. And yes I make a lot of religion topics because I'm interested in talking about this shit, and if that's such a problem for you Tal, then maybe you just shouldn't get involved with them you smug asshole.

No, I read it. So you're calling me a pseudo intellectual, at least you're implying it. Yep That's really funny. I never said I know every single scientific theory about this. I don't know, I've seen you talk about science quite a bit in these religious topics before without really knowing much about the Big Bang or Evolution. So you really, REALLY think that God is out there waiting to be proven? Seriously? No, actually. I don't agree with everything he said but I thought the spirit of his message was appropriate for this topic.Really? I mean, I don't know if this is what you believe but you quoted this guy as if he was your argument.

Also, I don't know if you think this, but I want there to be a loving God and when we die we go to a magical paradise. If we proved that there was a God, I'll be down on my knees praying for forgiveness wanting to get into his exclusive afterlife club. Come on now, don't be a pussy. Stand up for what you believe in. Look at the people out there denying accepted scientific theories.

I don't think you really understand, and I'm not sure if I can explain this very well, but I'll try...let's see...
I really think I do Alc, seeing as how you've hammered in your opinions pretty well these past few months. But OK, go on.

The idea of a God hasn't just always been there. Someone had to of been like "Well, we don't have answers for this yet...we need to make something up to explain it." Don't know what you're talking about here. The idea of higher beings has been around since before the dawn of civilization. That belief didn't begin with some guy going "Well, I guess God A deals with childbirth and B deals with storms and C deals with death and..." but groups of primitive people living together and, with their highly developed hominid brains, becoming aware of nature and sensing a higher force of work. That evolved over time into the various religions we have today. But notice how every civilization or nomadic group ended up developing some kind of religion or spirituality. Look at Native Americans, where they don't believe in religion so much as live it. You know when people talk about "nature" or "the universe" as if it's a person? That's God to me.

This phase of obsession with religion that you've inserted into your topics, posts, sig, and even on MSN. It's seriously all you talk about anymore. I'm up for a good religious discussion every once in a while but it gets tedious when you start them up constantly, each topic being a clone of a previous one.

Do you remember what it was like before you were born? If you said no to this, what LOGICAL explanation can you provide for an afterlife? (This isn't really relevant but he said you'll find out when you die.) Yeah, you find out when you die. Either there's an afterlife and you'll know, or it's oblivion and the question becomes irrelevant anyway.

Yeah I know I come across as a retarded ultra atheist who is so totally against everyone's beliefs that aren't mine, but I'm really not.You haven't done much to make me think otherwise. I don't particularly think you're a smart person if you believe in creationism, but it's not my problem. Now if you start talking about this shit in front of me I'm gonna NERDRAGE. Woah, what now? Did you just say it's not your problem if people believe in creationism, and that you'll only NERDRAGE if they bring it up? This isn't rhetorical, I actually want that to be clarified.
And yes I make a lot of religion topics because I'm interested in talking about this shit, and if that's such a problem for you Tal, then maybe you just shouldn't get involved with them you smug asshole. Now see, I don't get why you have to make 500 different topics though, and start over from your original position in each one.
Aight Alc, I'll bite.

No man nor God can give you the right to act like a dick. That's a freedom granted solely by society. And if one is denied, society will smite him with righteous fury.

Wikipedia Entry On Maury

After the video, with the female often further enraged or upset, the male will walk onto the set; he will usually be booed loudly by the audience. The male will typically react in a "you-don't-know-me" mannerism, showing confidence that he is not the father. A picture of the baby juxtaposed with a picture of the male will appear on a video screen, to which the female will usually say how she thinks they look similar, and the male will say how they do not look alike at all. One common occurrence is that each person will claim that he or she is beyond 100% (often 200% or 1,000%) sure that the man is/is not the father, with figures sometimes reaching as high as 1,000,000% (the highest this has it gone is "infinity-plus 1 percent", in the show aired on November 20, 2007 when a participant named Natasha (surname unknown) claimed to be "infinity-plus 1" percent sure that a man was the father of her child (The DNA test then proceeded to prove her wrong) [3]).
