It wasnt brain damage >> You dont see other wrestlers more famous than him that get beat on just as much killing their families then hanging themself do you? Not to mention he wouldnt have any 'concussions' as its all a show. Half those moves would kill a person instantly, such as a 'pile driver' which would snap someone's neck like a twig, ESPECIALLY a 380lb guy. All that weight would come crashing down on the most fragile part of the spine, the neck, shattering it instantly. Other moves that could hospitalize or kill a human include a 'clothesline' which would crush their trachea (Remember these arent 140lb teenagers fighting. Theres 380lbs of inertia crushing it.) Getting hit in the head with a folding chair by a guy built like a buick could easily cause instantaneous brain damage, and possibly neck injuries. The guys that get hit dont even get knocked unconscious. If you even just watch, when they do things like jump off the turnbuckle or do anything really, you can tell they never actually hit the other person. So its not 'concussions'. Im sticking with my steroid theory. The steroids are there, they were in his body, TEN TIMES the mount that should be, and steroids are known to do crap like cause extreme levels of agression. |

Ok, so the stories in the WWE are fake. The wrestling matches are pretty fixed or rigged but the pain is real. I heard Chris Benoit suffered from Dementia. Edit: Hey Akakios, good call. Owen Hart...yikes.

wow, ia. all i have to say is... lol. I can't beleive you think those steel chairs are real steal. Piledrivers don't hurt at all. I've taken them from my 250 pound brother (and i was 80 pounds at the time. basicly 10 years old). |

Did your bro go easy on you when he did that or did he really piledrive you?
And how about Joey Mercury? (Jeff Hardy destroyed Joey Mercury's face with the ladder and his high flying stunt.) |

Verafor thats my point, you were light, that and your brother isnt probably going to do a real piledriver on you. And yes there are accidents. owen hart, joey Mercury, etc etc etc. Tell me, even after these horrific and disfiguring injuries, did they go home, strangle their son, and kill their wives, then hang themselves? I dont think so. Heres what i think. the fact that he used a wrestling move to kill his son proves he was cognizant during the experience. he knew what he was doing, and picked a move that would be used against an opponent. Thus, in his roidrage (Which does exist; its testosterone, or to be more specific, depo-testosterone cypionate, heightened levels of which are known to cause excessive agression), he treated his son as such. He did not, in my opinion, intend to kill his son but in his heightened state af agression, he took it too far, held on for too long, and choked him too tight. it is my belief the son did something wrong, and in his rage, Benoit intended to 'punish him' in a display of who was boss. had he been out of it, he would have simply beat his son to death or something a lot more simple. "a study of two pairs of identical twins, in which one twin used anabolic steroids and the other did not, found that in both cases the steroid-using twin exhibited high levels of aggressiveness, hostility, anxiety and paranoid ideation not found in the "control" twin." -A quote from Wikipedia. |

I don't want to discount the use of steroids, but I don't believe you can just discount the idea of brain damage. Especially considering...
Granted, Benoit's case of killing his family was a bit more extreme. I dunno, there's more I could say, but I doubt it will even matter. |

Jassi, you fool. IA knows exactly what happened. I mean, you can't say there's a possibility for anything besides roid-rage, because.... Ummm.... IA WAS THERE! YES! That's how he knows! Hmm.... Wait! IA is being highly aggressive in these Benoit topics.... IA has roid-rage! GASP! It wasn't Benoit after-all. It was IA! |

Chuck. While I do take your point, my point is that there arent may options. His autopsy states tehre was ten times the normal level of testosterone in his system, and the drugs were found in his house. He might have had some protein deposits in his brain; ok. Lets measure. These protein deposits have only killed two other people. Steroids have been accredited to a lot more death and violence. Which seems more likely? Especially since most pro players of sports would have these, considering they all undergo the same brutality in their sport. I may seem upset, but its becasue I hate seeing people make excuses for murderers. So really heres the point; it could have been protein in his brain. it could have been steroids. it could have been any number of things. But it actually doesnt matter. He killed people. The end. The reason is not important; the ends do not justify the means, and the means do not justify the ends. He, his wife, and his kids are dead. What caused it? Who cares? It still happened. He still killed two innocent human beings for no apparent reason. So there. How about this. A guy downs fifteen beers, heads out to his car, and drives home. On the way he head ons a family of three, killing them all. when he goes to jail, he is set free. When the family of the ones who died asks why, the cops say, 'Oh, he was drunk. He was under the influence of something and therefore he faces no repurcussions for killing people, even though what he was under the influence of alters his mindset.' So, because his mind was a little out of order at the time, he gets away with killing innocent people. Thats kind of whats happening here; people keep trying to make up excuses why he did it so he seems like less of a murderer, but it really boils down to the fact that there is no justification for taking your own son and wife's lives. End of story. He could have been completely cuckoo; he still killed his family. He could have been on roids; he still killed his family. he could have been in an altered mindset by some 'protein deposits' (Which sounds ultra-dubious to me anyway; protein deposits on the brain's surface arent likely to interfere with much. people with tumors in their brain often function quite normally in society) but the fact remains; he still killed his family. And nothing will undo that, and nothing will justify that. |

I was just pointing out that we do not personally know the cause of it all. It's just all terribly sad. There really isn't anything we can get angry over. He's dead. So, all that's left is the sorrow from such a thing happening to his wife and child, and all that we can do is leave judgment to God. We shouldn't condemn him, because I'm sure people out there are ready to condemn you and me for our actions, IA. |

Uh, IA everyone accepts that possibility but unlike you seem more open to the idea of there being others. My guess: IT WAS BOTH THINGS! |

I see a gaping hole in all your theories. If Benoit did in fact have brain damage from wrestling, would that not mean that he would have to acutally GET HIT during wrestling!? |

EVERYBODY has freaking brain damage today. Because it's impossible to actually just kill someone, you have to be all crazy and guided by the little voices. |
