Just because you use some smartass reversing words or whatever doesn't make it not a flame.

Well, Akakios's ban is up. I think it would be super to delete the last few pages of irrelevant rantings and lock this thing down. How about it, buddies?

whats the point in doing that? the arguement is done, so it shouldn't matter, and anyway, if a new member had just signed in, maybe they would want to pay there respects to the guy... eh forget it, lock er down!

I don't want my topic locked or anything in it deleted, not that I have any control over what the mods do.

If you don't want to read "long butt posts" as you poetically put it, then you are in the wrong place. Discussions will have long posts, and if you refuse to read them, then you shouldn't be in the conversation, let alone only say "oh how long" and comment on nothing else. Of all of the new people I have seen on the forums, you flame the most. Why your flames flit past the eyes of everyone else is beyond me. Perhaps there is a reason you were banned when you first came here.

Under your guidelines of "oh how long" your original post could have really gotten to the point and not dragged on. I did not care about half the things you wrote. A synopsis of your post could be, "My dog died feel bad for me." Here is a piece of advice: Brevity kicks butt. You complain about my post having a novel-like quality, while yours sounds like a History Book. Keep in mind that this is following the guidelines you displayed; I don't think like this.

I am looking forward to your reply, which, knowing you, will surely have an acidic tone. That or you just won't reply simply because "oh how long."

To anyone else who has a problem with me looking at this in a objective way and not solely as "Oh his dog died I'll tell him I'm sorry and move on", you need to get over it. To anyone who still thinks this topic is only about Aeris the dog, then you need to realize that the subject changed four pages ago.

And to IA, you can ban me if you want. Akakios got banned for much less.

I actually didn't say butt.

My first post wasn't meant as a discussion piece, but rather as an attempt to inspire emotion in others. However, I would argue that in relative terms, that post was brief. I compacted the bare essentials of my history with my dog, as well as the most emotional time people usually share with their dogs. I actually wrote that in a notepad about an hour after we put her down, mainly because I wanted to remember what the experience was like, so I chose my words very carefully, being cautious not to include superfluous emotional material.

I obviously have no problem reading long posts, but the content should fit the length. If you're going to spend five paragraphs or whatever telling me what a piece of poopie (<---this will probably be censored) I am, then I'm not really interested in reading your post, and I'm certainly not interested in disagreeing that I am a piece of poopie. If you spend so much time and effort typing out how angry my behavior makes you, I doubt anything I say could change your mind, so I'm perfectly fine with you continuing to dislike me, as well as flame me.

Hopefully this was acidic enough for you, as I would hate to disappoint your undoubtedly insatiable desire for things to justify a hatred of me, but I think I fulfilled my acid quota for today with this (admittedly long) sentence.

By the by, I don't think Akakios was banned. Wasn't he just suspended for three days?

Finally, to all the mods and whatnot, I will once again request this topic to remain open and all the posts in it to remain untouched. I'm not offended at all by anything anyone has said, and I'm against censorship when the ability to ignore people you don't like is an option.

Oh, and as a final note, I don't care if anyone sympathizes with me (or as it was tactfully put, feels sorry for me), but I'm not rude about it. If you express regret and sympathy, I thank you for it, but it's not what I was looking for. As I said before, I wanted to create something that inspired emotion.

Obviously, though, it wasn't really me inspiring it, as I think everyone who felt their hearts clench and eyes well up were really just reminded of pets they love, and even perhaps of humans they love. Also like I said, I wanted to capture the feeling I experienced when I put my dog down, and seeing as how I made many people tear up, and in a few cases even cry, I'm glad I'll be able to read this again many years from now and remember well.

I posted this on about four or five message boards because more comments on it helped me get over it faster. Every time I checked a message board for new comments, I reread the first post. I ended up going through it fifty times, and after the second day, I got used to the fact that my doggy's gone forever.

My dad doesn't really have a place to vent, and she lived with him as his only company (my mother, sister, and I are staying in an apartment while my father stays at the house to help renovate it). So I think her death hit him even harder than it hit me, and I think he's going to take a lot longer to get over it, seeing as how he's the one who continually supported her as her body shut down, and is now reminded of her within our house.

To digress even more, I found something cool when I was cleaning through my room. After my first dogs died, I took a heart-shaped box and put in some of their hair as keepsakes. I also put in a chewed up part of a frisbee from Jake (I've always been a huge packrat). And apparently, when we first got Aeris and Chloe, I took some of their fur right away, I guess out of fear that I wouldn't have a chance (I think I took Jake's fur when we put Mickey down, because I was way out of town we he died). So I thought that was pretty cool. Unfortunately, I don't have that much of Aeris', though. She was just a pup then, so it would have been nice to have more of a reminder of those days.

I did find some old pictures though, which I'm going to get developed. I think getting those will cheer my dad up a bit.

Sorry, Whydrah, I just thought the back and forth between Dragon and PV was even worse than the Akakios thing. But, no matter. Also, I believe you inspired emotion (even anger in some cases ;)), so, well done.
