Couldn't you delete the spam, or slip it off into a new Randomness topic to try and preserve the original? |

Or, we could try and do what the rules state and remove post counts from spammers. Even though everybody says that they don't care about post count, I think some may be lying. But, I still think MSJ's idea could work, too.

We do, but you all have to try to ignore it. Moderators and Admins are the only ones who can delete any post at will (excluding obviously, the ability to remove your own posts), but if you find one, you should leave it be, don't comment on it (just continue with the topic), just inform a moderator and one of us will remove it if we think necessary. Topics that get locked because of spam are (or should) only be locked if it is mostly spam, and the said moderator doesn't take the time to remove each unhelpful post (they could be busy at the time, but this is just an example). |
