is it possiblt to kill you self in the past, if you make a time machine go back in time and kill yourself, wouldnt that mean you wont go back in time as you never built the time machine if you died in the past. then you never did kill yourself in the first place meaning you live but then you build the time machine and kill yourself. WHAT GIVES?! |

Going back in time with the express purpose of changing something would immediately result in a paradox no matter what. If you change something in the past, then it's how you wanted it, and you would have no reason to go back in time to once the timeline catches up with itself. |

Unless you think of time as a river where it branches off at every choice. Gonig back in time and changing something means changing the direction of the choice, possibly into the main course or even changing the main course. |

According to my religious beliefs, yes. But only some people, like me. Anyway, it's not my thread, but it seemed like my kind of question. Ah, I was going to make the obvious joke, but Adam got there first. By the way, Tagas, is that upper right animation made by you? I really enjoy it. |

God either no longer exists, or has no bearing on our daily lives. So there. |

Personally I am an aetheist and a firm holder of scientific beliefs. That is one of the reasons I opened this thread for people to ask ME about stuff not people asking questions and other's answering them. And Necro), that depends on your perspective. The Universe in itself has no sexual tendencies, well, not that I know of anyway :D. Since it hasn't got a specific gender then how can it have a sexual preferance? |

Why does the world's knowledge as a whole increase, yet the average person seems to be getting stupider all the time? |

that we didnt need to know, and who the Heck anwered my question about time so badly, its like you missed the point that it would be an endless cycle, meaning that time is possibly sphericle. |

Woah, woah, woah now. If time was spherical, that means everything starts over. It's scientifically impossible for anything to be the same twice. |

The process of firing a bullet from a gun is pretty much the same all the time with the exception of the times it jams. So there. |

how do we know that, as we at the moment can move a small particle 5 seconds forward so why not backwards?if time is spherical then it would mean that things would never realy change. that seems to be the current state of affairs.lol |

If parellel Universes/dimensions were proven then one of two things could happen. 1. They are identical in everyway, except some are further ahead in time than others/beind in time than others. 2. They are similar, when faced with a choice, each Universe chooses a different answer. |

ok,ive got a question and a statement first, the statment,a rule for the universe: "if a rule of the universe is ever discovered and told to someone else,it changes its self ever so slightly as to throw you off guard" (note, this rule dosent apply to itself) EG:coke had this promo about geting a free drink if you got a certain cap of there 360ml or 600ml. if you found one then you get a free 600ml bottle. the rule of this one is "if anyone choses the drink for me then i would win, else if i chse it then i would lose"(this rule has since changed severl times)so this worked with out fail, then i told my sis and it stoped any way,my question is: "have you found a law of the universe?" |
