I am reviewing Dynasty Warriors 4 (because i'm bored). First off I would like to let you know this is my opinion, you can think differently, blah blah blah yada yada. Alright let's start. Gameplay: 9/10 This game has excellent gameplay! I mean the framerate is marevlous fighting off tens, hundreds of troops. The only bad thing is it does lag sometimes when there is an enemy/ally general (or second player) around you fighting off tons of troops. Plus the unlockables. I'm not 100% done with the game yet! I mean getting everyone's level 10 weapon and getting all the harnesses, orbs, items, etc. Sound: 6/10 This is where it lacks most. The voiceovers overall are average maybe a 7. But the soundtracks get annoying very quickly. Like on The Yellow Turban act; the music gives me a headache. Sometimes they do get some solid music to fit in, such as the "Act" screen. Or the Battle of Xia Pi has some good guitar riffs. Graphics: 8.5/10 Fighting off hundreds of troops never looked so good! Actually the graphics aren't to shabby. It's just fighting off the troops, the graphics can really get glitchy. Although it's not as bad as the GTA Games, it still delivers strong in the cutscenes and mostly throughout the game. Scenery/Backgrounds: 10/10 This is definetly a strong side. The backgrounds are beautiful and gives you the ancient China look. The rocks and grass and even the trees have really nice craftmanship. Story: 10/10 Although not very accurate (Who plays games for accuracy?!), the story is very excellent. I know they didn't make it up, but they did a helluva good job recreating it. The story all depends on which "Musou mode" (practically the Story Mode) you pick. But bascially, all the musou modes, are trying to gain land and more superioty, by killing out the other kingdoms. Lasting Appeal: 10/10 This game has so many unlockables it's not even funny! The replay value is excellent. I mean try to get all the harnesses, items, models for each character, get their level 10 weapon, unlock all of the "Tales", get all the secret characters. And just to make it a little better, it's not superly hard, even on hard mode. So screw the easy mode, pick a character, and bash the hel| out of people. Overall: 53.5/60 This game is definetly a must buy! If so try to get it used at a gamestop. I got mine for only 18 Dollars! A great bargain for a great game! Pros: -Great recreation of the Han Dynasty -So-so voiceovers -Really big game, little loss of framerate -Lots of unlockables! Cons: -Basically just hacking and slashing; but don't take this wrong, it's still a good game if you like games such as: Devil May Cry or Onimusha. -Music can get pretty bad at some points. -Maybe should of put a Very Hard difficulty (dont get me wrong I'm okay with just Hard) for players who love a challenge. Thats the end of my first game review! So you should definetly take some time and buy this game! |
