How to make a good MMORPG? My opinion is here. 1. Storyline. That's right, a story. Lack of story is why runescape was a slice of molded bread. You don't have to have a huge super-amazing storyline with plot twists and character development, but you do need something... 2. Side-Quests. A lot of good quests that earn your chara a lot of good stuff is a must have. 3. Class-system. Provides good development of characters. 4. Lots of equipment. You will need tons of weapons and armor. 5. Fun. It must be fun. Make it humorous and not boring at any time. |

Story? How can I put a story in an online game? By online I don't mean a regular game where you play through the game with a friend, I mean like a virtual world. And the players make up a character, so, can you rephrase that? |

A series of quests that are connected. You will have to make sure that each characters progress is kept seperate from the others. Basically, it's something to prevent the game from getting boring. |

Yeah Online games you should just make some random dungeons, and maybe some side-quests. |

I like games without a plot. They are just better. |

Make lots of areas to explore, don't just make your feilds a path from one town to the next. Make dead-end forest trails, make large feilds with monsters to fight. Make sure there's good landmarks for guilds and friends to meet up. The boring MMORPG is the one that has all of its maps linked together, with no places to explore. Make it so exciting, It would take so long to visit every map once. |
