Hey look at this!
|
What was your first game idea? My first one was going to feature all my classmates (well, ex-classmates) and they found out I was transported into another world, because I was needed to summon a powerful creature that will destroy the world. (Begin laughing) Would I bother with this project again? No, because 1) My classmates and I go to different schools, and b)The idea was so terrible. |

Mine was Forgotten Vengeance (see project discussion). So I'm hoping that wasn't too bad for my first idea. You should make that game, to make newbies feel better

Mastermind.. sigh.. Esentially an evil creature called the mastermind has been released from captivity, and you have to journey across the world to find the seven rainbow jems and re-imprision him (my brothers and I Rp'ed this) |

My guy was part of a dangerous Cult, and he went to a city to recruit some people. But it didn't come out as planned, cause you could beat the game in five minutes. |

Farewell.

My first games idea vas called Hero's legacy. I was bad because it had about a million obvious rip offs of reality breakdown. |

ive had a bunch, but i guess the first real idea that i actually started, was about a guy who touches this crystal and his existence is erased, so he and this chick he meets go to figure out what happened. its not too bad, but alot of it is way too ripped off of chrono cross. i'm using the ps1 version of rpgmaker. man, i miss Land4!! Ah... my first game idea... Well, this was back on the Playstation RPG Maker. It was the story that two of the main characters of my comic- Ace and Coli- were originally designed for. Essentially, Ace was an amnesiac (Ace isn't even his name) who eventually learns that he was engineered to manipulate lighting. The plot was about him and Coli trying to fight against the recovery unit sent to recapture Ace. Doesn't sound too good on paper, does it? Actually- it was planned as a three-parter that got kinda weird and deviated from the engineered soldier thing. The second one revolved around Ace's brother Kain and the mark that was turning him into a demon, and the third one revolved around a child magus from another world that was searching for people who shared similar powers to combat a world-eating apparition. Why didn't it take off? Well, I was twelve. I couldn't write out what was in my head very well, I had not the attention span to make ONE of these games, much less three, and on top of these the PS-X RPG Maker had too many limitations to do what I wanted. So, it was scrapped in favor of Monkey World, the only game I've ever finished (hopefully that will change with Equivocation, though). |

Heheh... Now I've gotta go on a tangent about the crapfest that was Monkey World. It was my practice game, the only one I've finished in the years I've had the Playstation RPG Maker. You played as Hearau (pronounced "Hero"), the only monkey on Monkey World that CAN'T talk. He lives in a house in a graveyard in the middle of the woods where he hangs out with zombies (sadly, this aspect is hardly used at all). One day, the demon ape Kongo comes back to life for some reason and destroys Hearau's house to stop the Legendary Hero from awakening, effectively ruining Hearau's breakfast. He vows revenge on behalf of his corn flakes. Hearau "explains" the situation to the mayor of whatever-the-Dark place-the-town's-name-was and later meets Faere, a fairy from the moon or whatever sent to stop Kongo... I think. I honestly can't remember why she was there. So you go through a half-assed forest maze and fight Willau, a dragon that has something to do with Kongo. You enter the next town, which is more or less a human zoo with a legendary sword in there for some reason. After fighting Ainjill, a friend or whatever of Faere who's controlled by Kongo, you get the sword that turns Hearau into a human with a monkey tail. Ainjill explodes for some reason and you meet a mysterious warrior not-so-subtley named Vylinn. Oooh, foreshadowing! After going through another half-assed dungeon and fighting some boss whom I can't remember, you arrive at a port town with a castle. Now, think about the logic in that for a second. You go through the maddening castle dungeon that is under some kind of evil control or something, and after defeating the boss, the battles are turned off- and I never remembered to turn them back on. So, you get a boat and take it to Kongo's evil lair (again, without any battles). You eventually fight Kongo, but after that Vylinn tries to go take over the Earth or something and you have to defeat him. I don't remember how the game ended. Maybe Hearau turned back into a monkey or something, since he started as one in the sequel. Yes, there was a half-finished sequel: Monkey World 2- Another Dumb Tail. This time, Monkey World was falling apart and Hearau and Faere had to figure out the cause of all these video game references across four planets. I also planned a remake after fully mastering RPG Maker on the PS-X, called Monkey World+. Despite an utterly hilarious scene involving Hearau and his zombie bros playing cards (with each one apparently playing a different game than the rest of them) for an intro (the Grim Reaper completely stole the scene), it never took off. Honestly, I never meant for this to become my flagship series. As you can see, I had pretty darn humble beginnings before I became known as "Haywood- Creator of Equivocation". I guess that makes this an inspirational story of sorts. The moral: If you put your mind to it and don't give up after your miserable, MISERABLE failures, you can turn up with something great. |

First game IDEA? I can't even remember. First game I tried to make? Oh jeez. It shouldn't have been worth thinking about. Basicly, you start at an outrageous level, fight some huge dragon thing with a magic sword that kills it in about 3 hits, and you win. I didn't finish. I love the monkey world concept, by the way. |
