I like this idea. Let's review the movies we've seen lately, shall we? *ALL OF THE MOVIES THAT I WILL BE REVIEWING IN THIS POST ARE FROM 2008, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ONE. ALL THESE MOVIES JUST MADE IT ONTO MY ONDEMAND SO YOU CAN SHOVE IT* Anyway, going on... Wall-E I have to be honest. I really REALLY do not like any of the Disney/Pixar movies...except for this one. This movie had some real emotion. It's funny too, because they're human emotions that are expressed with robots, yet, most movies can't even do this with real people. It has a slow start, but the movie picks up pretty quickly and it is one of those movies that you HAVE to watch until the end. I almost cried at the end of the movie, not because the ending is sad. (the ending's not sad, it's a Disney movie you guys.) But I cried because of my sheer amazement that Disney could make a movie so great. If you haven't seen this movie yet, I'd recommend buying it for DVD, you'll definitely be watching it more than once. Gran Torino Wow. My expectations were SOOO met by this movie. I love Clint Eastwood. He is a man that can enforce emotions of both fear and excitement at the same time. Normally, I am disgusted whenever I see someone full of racism and bigotry, but Eastwood's performance was so great that I just threw all the negative aspects about his character aside. There's very few scenes where you actually see Eastwood in his prime, but they send chills throughout your spine and they are the scenes that you will first remember whenever you reminisce about the movie. As for the film itself, it starts off as pretty calm and depressing, to dark and horrifying. This is one movie that will make your jaw drop in amazement. Horton Hears a Who! Meh. It was alright. Honestly, I would love an original comedy movie that starred Jim Carrey, Steve Carrell and Seth Rogen, but I feel like this shouldn't of been that movie. I've never read the book, but from watching the movie, I can already segregate the parts that are actually taken from the book from the parts that the directors decided to add to the story. There are some parts in particular that are funny, although a bit ridiculous for a Dr. Seuss story (and I do mean that.) they did make me chuckle, even if they were a little out of place. Some of the characters definitely felt in place, but Horton seemed like he was a bit "mad." Although, I was kind of expecting this from a Jim Carrey role based on a Dr. Seuss story. Paul Blart: Mall Cop It sucked. Really, I probably should have been more fair to this movie, since I only watched the first 30 minutes, but I just couldn't stand it. I could already tell that it was one of those movies that reeked of mediocrity. I really think that Kevin James is more suited for stand-up than he is for acting. |

Drag me to Hell Oh god. Don't even get me started on this alleged "movie". It was probably the worst horror film I have ever seen. It had continuity errors, the horror was out of place and usually sucked, and it had a terrible ending. The acting was also terrible. At least the movie wasn't a total loss, I laughed at all the terribleness several times over. |

Taken Man I loved this movie since the main character beat the shit outta everyone. And I laughed my ass off when the spotter got hit by the truck after his crazy jump. [/spoiler] |

IRT Taken: I loved watching him walk around just beating the fuck out of people, and nearly busted into tears while laughing at the guy getting hit by the car. Transfomers: Saw it twice. Loved it, but it felt like more like a conclusion to the first movie than it did as a sequel. IDK, its hard to explain, it just felt like more of the same on the same story. Still a good movie though. |

I couldn't stop laughing throughout the entire Gran Torino movie. So politically incorrect. <3 Unfortunately, that's the last movie I saw. |
