Disney referenced the Donner party in Aladdin. Cartoons secretly have tons of references to things only adults understand so it's less boring for them to watch with their kids.

I agree with Tedyz. Johnny Bravo was OK, but he wasn't anything spectacular. If we're talking '90s Cartoon Network characters, I would have to vote Dexter and all of the little extra cartoons that go with it.
