I'm guessing the film maker interviewed a lot of people and kept the answers that stood out. After all, people who respect other people's choices are boring, right? Bring moar of that "Democrats don't love their country as much as Republicans". And did Obama really call the people who stick to their religion and gun rights "bitter"? |

He said: “You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And it’s not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” He did, but they spun it a bit. |

Lawl, in Canada nobody cares who wins or loses the federal elections. The politicians bitch each other the whole campaign and then 90% of the population is like "oh, I have no idea what that party is going to do, all I know is that it hates the others. Imma just vote based on their faces then." All the parties are like "Education and Health care are important to us" and then proceed at saying how the previous prime minister failed at doing his job (if he is still running for presidency that is, otherwise he's an okay guy and all). The provincial elections are even worse (in Quebec at the very least). And also the Green Party gets a ton of votes from people who have no idea who to vote for. |

welcome to MA,like 7/8ths of my school voted for Obama in the mock election, and they have no clue why. It's just because of the cool ads he puts up online. When we had, idunno what they're called, we had "obama and mccain representatives" from the government class to try and win our votes. McCain basically was like "i'll lower gas prices, I'll keep the people in Iraq to fight, and I do not support X, X, and X", Whereas, Obama's campaign, was "i will lower gas prices, i will make college affordable, i support abortion, i will pull our men out of Iraq, etc etc etc" For some reason my school feels very strongly about Iraq, even though they arent the ones fighting. Obama's mock campaign was pretty subliminal too, they said "VOTE OBAMA" before every argument. I'm a republican, and even if McCain is way more towards the democratic side, i still would support him over Obama.and also, i hate the people at my school who think McCain is going to drop dead in office, and we'll be screwed by Palin. |

I care about Iraq for the cost (notably the bullshit privatization), international relations regarding it and they keep sending the same people to fight. Just because someone isn't fighting in Iraq doesn't mean they can't care. That is like saying men can't have an opinion on abortion because they don't have the kid. Just because your not experiencing it doesn't mean you aren't opinionated on it. Canadaian Election got 6.5% of the vote the Green Party, they won no seats in Parliament. I didn't follow your election, but I know the results. Conservative Party took over the majority of seats. The 'Not So' Liberal party suffered massive losses. This is what happens when you have a center right party, two center left and a far left (not counting Green Since it didn't get seats), you get a lot of splintering on one side. But in America no one cares about policy either, its all about the person, not what they stand for. I heard more shift about the race and gender card that policy. And what you do hear on policy is so watered down it sounds the same no matter who says it. |
