Now this is why I tell gamer people to just not date people who don't play video games.

Easier said than done for male gamers, though. For every female gamer, there's like 50 male gamers... GOOD LUCK GAIS.

No, but really, I lol'd.

Hiding controllers across the house when Halo 2 just got released? That bitch. The relationship would have been over right there.

I don't think you have to have a gamer partner, just one who respects games. Usually, you can lure them in nowadays with gateway titles.

Not that I have any experience in such things.

Honestly, it is a bit sad when your skipping hanging out with your girlfriend (or boyfriend to be fair) to play games. Regardless of penalty incurred for leaving a game early, just turn the game off when they walk in. Or even play guitar hero or something that consistently has down time if you know they are coming over. That way, you dont have to just drop everything, the game is going to end in about 4 minutes anyway.

Fair points, but they have to pick the gaming-obsessed types as examples.
If your with your girlfriend and she wants you to be paying attention to her and not video games then you turn the bloody thing off.
Although hiding the controllers is a bit harsh.

While you should of course put your bf/gf/husband/wife/sexxing before games, they should also be tolerant of your hobbies and interests.

This example is kind of extreme, as some of the guys sound as if they're semi-addicted to games... Really, standing your girl up to play games is not a good idea.

But if you can't deal with your bf wanting to spend some of his free time with the guys playing CS or L4D or something, you're with the wrong person.

Really, it's great that I can hang out with my bf and play all kinds of games and be happy - unlike most girls, I'm not just doing it to entertain him, I'm doing because HAY I actually like games. I can't imagine having a relationship where we didn't share such a hobby.

Storm's right. At least respect and understand your bf/gf's hobby. It's not that bad.

That is, unless they're addicted. That kind of sucks for anyone involved.

The hard thing is, there are girls out there who pretend to like games and after awhile of dating she starts bitching that you should should marry Mario. True story.

Well, even if you're both into playing games, you can still play TOO much. I know there are times I want Adam to stop playing CS for five minutes. >.> But that's a different story.

Although, I know you mean people who actually fake liking video games. That's pretty bad.

There was a time years ago where I may have played to much. But the past few years, I haven't really played much at all. At home, I play a game maybe 2 hours out of a whole month. I usually play games at friend's houses these days. But that's half because I only have a DS and no money for new games.
