Child of Dust
|
Now, I am a sufferer from DHS, Dead Heart Syndrome. It means I generally don't give a care, and if I do, it's only a minor care. However, this recent story has got my blood boiling. In short, guy in Austria kidnaps his daughter at 18 and keeps her in a secret underground lair. Rapes her in secret for 24 f*****g years, fathers seven children, lets one of them die, and the lot of them never saw the light of day. Probably raped at least one of them too, though we don't know for sure. Finally, he confesses cause the 19 year-old kid/grandkid got sick. Guy's name was Josef Fritzl, in case you care. Oh yeah, guess what the maximum sentence he could get is? 15 years. No, not a joke. A long time ago I posted a story of a kid drowning in his own vomit on another forum. I said at the time my last thread of sympathy for the human race vanished. I don't even know what this does to my view of the human race. In short, DHS has vanished for the time. I'm not even sure what emotions I'm feeling right now. Sadness, shock, pity, remorse, rabid blistering rage. It's just a cocktail of odd emotions. One thing I do know though. If anyone ever says that the death penalty should never be used on non-murder cases, all I'll have to say is one word. Fritzl. Anyway...thoughts? |
