I have a court date on the 31st... and I mean I admit the charges against me I brought upon myself and were wrong and stupid and I deserve to be punished but at the same time it would be nice if it wasn't too harsh. So my question is does anyone have any idea what happens to you for a first offense DWI? From what I know New Jersey courts in general like to stick it to you harder than a lot of other places and things are kinda more strict here because from what I believe our traffic congestion is the worst= highest insurance rates in America... and I know theres a lot of zero tolerance policy things out for stuff like that. I mean I'm figuring I'm going to lose my license I just have no idea for how long. Anyone know anything about this field? |

Someone I know got a DUI and lost it for 2 months but he also was above 21. I would assume 6 months to a year... |
Remember... Capitalization is the difference between "I had to help my uncle Jack off a horse.." and "I had to help my uncle jack off a horse.." | |

I know it really sucks, but in reality, driving drunk/under the influence is one of the worst crimes you can commit outside of serious things like murder. =/ You could kill somebody. Since you're trying to get better and off the drugs right now, not being able to drive might be a good thing for a while. There's not much you can do. If you are able to drive, just do one thing. Whether you're still on the drugs or clear, at least stay away from the car any time that you've done some sort of drugs. Please, don't drive like that. If you want to get drunk or something, do it inside or without the car. That's all. Please. |
