Alright guys, Zetaboards, the new update of Invisionfree is now out. Basically its a total update on everything for all members. More of everything. The problem is that I don't know what it will entail. Whether or not the URL will the stay the same and such. This will help attract members and will be more userfriendly but I just wanted official confirmation from all of you. |

What is converted? * * Topics & Posts * Forums & Categories * Board Settings, Admin notepad, Board rules * Member accounts and their settings * Permission masks * Groups * PMs, PM tracking, contacts * Polls * Board Stats * Moderator logs, warn logs, email logs, and admin logs * Calendar events * Badword lists * Forum and topic tracking * Moderators * Validating members * Emoticons (smilies) * Titles & Ranks * AutoTools (MultiMods) * Attachments, pips, and uploaded files * Ad removal (Essentially this means that all data on your InvisionFree board is converted) Conversion Facts * * The conversion is completely free. * You do not need to turn your board offline, but during the opt-in process you can select to have your newly converted board turned offline so you can make any changes before members start using it. You will not be able to access your board during the conversion. * You do not have to do anything in preparation for the conversion. * The doHTML tag will work in converted posts, but will not be available at this time for use in new posts or after you edit converted posts. ZetaBoards offers a wider selection of BBCode that will let you do things such as create tables and embed YouTube videos without the doHTML tag. * Your InvisionFree board, topic, and forum URLs will redirect to the new board. These redirects will continue indefinitely so that no one has trouble reaching your board. * If you have a custom domain, it will redirect to the new ZetaBoards URL for your board. You will need to point the custom domain at the new ZetaBoards server to fully use the domain on your new board. If you have a custom domain, the instructions for re-pointing it will be listed in your new Admin CP. * If the converter encounters broken data on your InvisionFree board (caused by a past bug or any other reason) it will either correct the problem or alert you of the problem and how to solve it via an Admin CP message on your new board. In no case will the converter be unable to convert your board. * There is no conversion back to InvisionFree at this time. The ZetaBoards software offers an improved forum experience. If you have any concerns that ZetaBoards might not be for you, feel free to start a test ZetaBoards forum or open a support ticket with any questions. * A skin converter will be available at a later date. We will store all your skin's data (including board wrappers and images) and make it available to convert. * Only the board owner can opt-in at this time. However, once opt-outs start to trail off, we will allow an opt-in by any admin on boards that have yet to opt-out. * Your board's URLs will redirect to their new URL indefinitely. There will be no conflicts if your board has the same name as an existing ZetaBoard. |
