Super Paper Mario

Ultimate pwnage.
Woot I just beat the game! Lemme tell ya, it's pretty good. One of the best wii games I've played so far (Better than TP, but not as good as RE4).

Story : 7/10

Let's say there's not much on the story side, but it's still pretty good. Mario has to save the world from the evil count Bleck that opened a vortex with an evil book. There's a lot of stuff that goes on but that's the base of the story, but that's all I'm saying. You guys will have to play to know what's really going on ;].

Gameplay : 9/10

Pretty good, they removed the turn based battles from the old Paper Mario games, but it's a good addition, it makes the game old school, but with a little twist ; you still gain level ups, you can use items to heal, attack, etc. You can switch between 4 playable characters, and the Pixls replaced the badges ( they give you powers, like smash with a hammer, become tiny, etc ).

Graphics : 10/10

I don't know about you, but I love colorful graphics. I mean, most people are like "YAY GRAPHICS WITH DETAILS LIKE ON XBOX", but I'm not like that, I like colorful graphics, like paper mario, or okami, and stuff like that. Everything is clear, you know what is what, and it makes the game different from most games.

Sounds : 9/10

Okay. The music is pretty nice. You have old super mario bros songs (Like in the water, for example, and many others), remixed, and other songs that were composed for this game. Sound effects are nice too.

Overall : 9.5/10

This game is awesome. I'm not a nintendo fanboy, nor a mario fan, but I loved this game. There's a lot of funny jokes, there's drama, action, there's everything a game needs. Everything is good about the game, I think there was ONE level I hated and it was the space one, it was a bit boring, other than that it's awesome.

I'm talking about the fact that the "overall" score he gave does not equal the average of the four categories.

Dude, you have to have a reason to give it a 9.5. You can't pull the number out of thin air.

The overall score does not have to equal the average.

Virtually no game critic does that.

Soooo basically the overall score means absolutely nothing because there is no proof or evidence to back it up.

Overall score can equal what you'd give it yourself.

So they're his opinions on the graphics etc and that's his final score, that's how many people do it.

That's BS. No wonder I don't actually pay attention to anybody's reviews. Facts, people, facts.

Facts don't cut it in reviews, which are a matter of preference.

I would have given the same game roughly a 6, because IMO, it sucked.

Overall scores rates the overall fun you have with it.

No, see, if I wanted an opinion on how fun a game is to play, I'd go ask a videogaming buddy. If I want a straight-forward, non-partisan look on the functions and graphics and play of a game, I would think that I could look to a review. But alas, it seems that nothing is as it should be in this world.

That's what the first segment is... The graphics/gameplay/etc.

However, you can't get a truly unbiased look at anything. Except maybe graphics...
