My brother is going to prison

Earlier today, my brother beat the shit out of his girlfriend, but she's refusing to press charges against him. However, her father is an officer and him and my other two brothers, who are officers, are trying to get him into prison. Most likely, that's where he's headed.

You might think I'm crazy, but I'm actually somewhat happy. He caused a load of drama in all our lives and being locked up is really what's best for him. THIS will hopefully be what changes him.

Well he can't get into prison unless she presses charges, no way around it, and the reason she probably won't press charges is fear, so chances are, no he won't unless the father can knock sense into her.

I sure hope he does. I have little sympathy for wife/girlfriend beaters.

there is zero tolerance against abusing women this day in age. And even if she doesn't press charges, he can still get into a lot of trouble. Most woman won't press charges because they are to scared, but the cops will still make sure he gets into a lot of trouble. There is no reason for a man to beat a woman no matter how mad she makes him. No woman should beat a man either, but you are not a man if you beat up a woman.

I hope he gets what he deserves. There's no reason strong enough to beat up someone you're supposed to love.

There's a difference between trying to take the gun from her and beating her for no reason.

Prison sounds like a good idea. Hitting someone without good cause (self-defense or something, just so words don't get shoved in my mouth...) is stupid, man or woman.

And the state can press charges if they have a reason to believe he's a threat to others, I believe.

i must agree with you, i wish the same happened to my oldest brother (2 years younger than me) but chances are if he gets in trouble we'll just get thrown off the base for bad parenting. He has extreme ADHD and gets into constant trouble. He ruins life for me and my brothers, he steals, lies, and everything. What can my parents do? they try to do as much as possible but they can't cuz of all the stupid rules with child abuse, they can't do anything more than what they do now, and he keeps sneeking around all their rules. The most they can do is ground him, and he kisses up to them the next day to get off the hook. He also eats very little, and costs us half our commissary bill becaouse its all junk food. He lives off oreos, donuts, fig newtons, ritz, poptarts, grilled cheese, fries, bread and butter, and hamburgers. I am being truly serious about this. He eats practically nothing. We can't force him to eat new foods because he insists on not eating it, and of course we can't starve him, cuz that's bad parenting too. Three times he has ran out of the house, worrying my parents sick. My 3 oldest brothers (ranging 6 years, all younger than me) all weigh in around the same, cuz the first is picky eating practically nothing, the second (4 years younger than me) eats very little, and the third (8 years) eats and eats. x_X

EDIT - Two days ago, he got in a big fight with his friend Cody, resulting in the breaking of my dad's cell phone. I swear, my brother has no responsibilities whatsoever. He breaks my dad's guitar strings all the time, has broken his cell phones 2 times (the only two he's ever had) and lost our video camera. He also cared poorly for his game boy color in that day and age.
