Censoring Music on the Radio

Censoring is a good thing for radio. Kids learn to use it at an early age, and if it wasn't censored, there would be a lot of angry parents out there.
I do remember being a kid and hating that it was censored. Back before we could just download music, I would record songs off the radio and then I'd play it and my friends would be all, "LAWLz, j00 got censored music, what a n00b!"

The bad thing is, kids are learning to use the internet at earlier ages now as well. And there is no way that they can censor it.

as far as censorship goes in general I think there is no point in censoring music. Music is an art. an expression of possibly a past experience, idea, or something in your imagination. So are we supposed to limit one's imagination just because they use words that are considered "profane" ? nope

As a musician myself I don't see any reason to censor anyones music, music cant cause problems. some music is a result of the problems in our world, not the other way around.

But saying that, music such as rap uses swear words no reason >_>

Radio waves are controlled by the Federal government.

The Federal government "shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech"

What can we conclude?

They're breaking the Constitution every time they censor speech. ^_^

*requotes*

Privately owned and operated stations can censor all they want, but publicly controlled and monitored stations (basically all radio stations) can't censor.

I don't understand why no one else uses this arguement...
"I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason and intellect has intended us to forego their use." - Galileo Galilei

I can't remember what it was on, think it was the old Top Gear where they deliberately did a censored swearword. But the thing is, they got half way through 'Bollocks' before they censored it XD
