Playing pokemon doesn't make you obsessed. It's not that bad of the game. The anime sucks balls, though.

I remember when I was little, like in kindergarten, I'd sneak off at recess to play with tamagotchi, and when I was a few years older, even Gameboy... Wheeee.

everybody says it's bad because they made to many pokemon but it's still a good game
It still has the same battle system and most pokemon are similar to pokemon in old games

Pokemon used to be the only thing I would play. Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 and Pokemon Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Silver, Gold, Ruby, Sapphire, Fire Red and Leaf Green, I might get Diamond and Pearl.

The new Pokemon are pretty much copies of old Pokemon and crap like that. Some of them are cool, but meh.

Although the newer GAMES were kind of cool. Silver and gold were nice. The ones we're getting now... Eh wtf? Stop already. Either make something new and innovative, instead of 100 new Pokemon, or stop.

you have to admit, if they didn't get new pokemon it would get repetitive
imagine if they only had the pokemon from red/blue version

Having to catch 500 pokemon isn't repetitive?

All of these new Pokemon just ruin it. I wish they would just have the original Pokemon again like Pikachu and all of the other originals.

OK, so I think the Pokemon games are fantastic, personally. The anime and card game and everything else, though...

Teh sux. But yeah, I recently am starting to get obsessed with my Emerald game again, and my friend Garrett is being evil and waving Diamond in my face constantly, but hey...I'm gonna get Pearl for my birthday most likely, and that's coming up very soon, so...Yay! Pokemon's great. Too many people shun it because of the crappy TV show and dumbnut card game.

I don't even know which people or anything are in the TV show anymore. I haven't seen that show for such a long time, the last time I watched it I think I was 5 years old.

This is how I see it.

Red, Yellow and Blue : There's 151 Pokemon, okay. There's around 5 of them you can't catch if you have only one version, so it's very possible to get them all if you have a friend with a different version.

Gold, Silver and Crystal : There's 251 Pokemon, hmmmkaaaay. There's a lot more of them you can't catch on your version since some Pokemon can only be caught on RYB + the other version of this generation. Great. Still possible I guess. The fact that they added a time system and special events made it more interesting.

Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire : There are now around 351 Pokemon. Including the dreaded dumb names like Zigzagoon. Not much to say except that it didn't live up to expectations.

Fire Red and Leaf Green : Thank God, no new Pokemon here. Actually, it's just a remake of the original to get some more kids hooked up. Now everything is in normal color (not like the GBC versions).

Diamond and Pearl : Around 451 Pokemon. O_O (this is your face)
Okay. First thing I noticed on the game cover.

So the word "Pokemon" comes from "Pocket Monster". Does this look like a Pocket Monster? I guess so.

Does this thing look like a Pocket Monster? Hell no. It looks like some kind of Power Rangers crappy villain, or Godzilla's cousin or something.

I'd say that Pokemon is slowly dying. 150 or 250 creatures to catch, okay. 450-500? No way. Not when you actually only need to train like 6 of them to own everybody else.
