Lets say you are walking down the street, when an old lady drops a wad of cash on the floor which is $1000, and she doesn't notice it, would you pick it up and keep it ? Or return the money?

Dont ask why she has 1K, i dont know, i was just giving an example.

Personally i'd give in to temptation and go spend it.

i know its a bad thing to do but, still....

I would give the 1K back only if the police give a reward of 1K or higher.

Not a good idea. She'd watch in her pocket and see that 700$ is missing.

he probalbly meant he'd only give some of the money back
I would spend it(unless i knew the person who dropped it)
I would spend it on a better computer or something
It's the old lady's fault for dropping it

If it was like ten bucks, I'd probably keep it.

A thousand is a lot of money. I seriously couldn't take that, I'd feel bad for the rest of my life. I'd rather have a clear conscience for life than temporary money. Guilt/regret is NOT something I want to live with...

A lot of money I would turn in. I'd probably get a reward anyway, eh?

$1000, or some reward you can ussually get for under $5
I would definately spend it
It's the old lady's fault for carrying $1000 in cash anyway.

I agree with giving it back. $1,000 is a lot of money for an old fart, especially when you see that they save every penny that have because most old people live in financial destitute. Ever hear of grandma eating Alpo? On the other hand, like Naoko said, $10 you can keep. Ten bucks isn't going to make or break anybody.

It would for me. -_- I didn't have even the 50 bucks to give to my French teacher for a book he got for me that was cheaper than the bookstore... *Dies* I SO POOR LAWLZ.

WTF with college textbooks costing so freaking much, anyway? I could use that 1k. -_- But I couldn't. I'd hate myself forever.

For anyone saying they'd keep it, I hope you lose a similar amount of money someday. And if anyone thinks $1000 is a lot of money, you've obviously never had that much money in your possession. If it's $100, and there's no one around looking for it, yeah, I would keep it. But if I actually see someone drop money - even if its a $0.10, I chase them down to return it. Karma - it's out there.

So, is a lifetime of guilt worth a little-bitty shopping spree?

A few days ago, I went to the movie, "Happy Feet" (LOL)
and a woman dropped her purse, wallet...Whatever it's called, so I gave it to her and she said, "Oh, I must've dropped it." and walked away.
SHE DIDN'T EVEN SAY THANK YOU! :( :(
Yeah.

It depends if I needed the $1000. I mean, if I needed FOOD or something, then yeah, I'd keep it. If I didn't, or if I wanted something but didn't need it (like teh Wii), I'd give it back.
