Only reason 360 is way ahead is because it's been out longer. It can never compare to the other two. Plus, the amount of consoles sold doesn't mean one console is better than another in any way. -_-;; It's just how popular it is. And the indie law code states that mass popularity - what EVERYONE likes - is a bad thing. XD |

That doesn't mean it's better. It's been a long time since there was anything new about the 360. |

Its idiotic to not like something just because everyone does. Its good to do what you want, not what other people want or the indie code. |

I was joking. -_-;; Part of my point was that for the PS3, perhaps instead of stuffing it with crap in order to sell it well, they're trying to create some new things for some real fans. You know, doing what they want for the fans they care most about, instead of just trying to sell whatever to everybody. Anyway. The whole indie thing was a joke, but it was also a good point - just because something is popular does NOT mean it's good, and definitely does not mean it's best. *cough* Look at Pokemon. |

It sounds like you're describing Nintendo and the Wii, not Sony and the PS3. NexGen Wars may not be completely accurate. http://www.vgcharts.org has different numbers, for example. |

Did I SAY I was talking about the Wii? No. If they wanted to appeal to people they sure as HELL would not have ended up calling it the Wii in the first place. Calling it the Wii just appeals to the five-year-olds when Nintendo knows the fanboys are going to buy out anyway. The Wii stuffed whatever they could into it to be interesting. That's great and everything, I'm not saying it's not, I'd like it too, but that's just to appeal to everyone and sell it to everyone. The PS3, although it isn't selling as well, has its advanced hardware that appeals to hardcore fans and people who understand and appreciate the things like the blu-ray. I'm saying maybe Sony is worrying more about the hardcore people than just finding a way to sell it to everybody. Might've been a bad idea if they can't pay it off in the end, but still. |

No, you didn't say you were talking about the Wii, and that's my point. If anyone is stuffing crap into their console, it's Sony. Not Nintendo. The only things Nintendo added are free WiFi, a new type of innovative controller, and slightly more powerful than the Xbox hardware. The Wii can't even play DVDs. Sony, on the other hand, is pushing the most advanced hardware possible, is using a brand new disc format, etc. And here's a good article why the PS3 isn't selling: http://geekidiot.com/9/5-reasons-why-the-ps3-isnt-selling/ |

For one thing, what does the name have to do with anything? That's like saying the Apple company will never sell anything because its name is a fruit.
The whole idea of the Wii is to appeal to every one. Not just kids and fanboys. You apparently know this because you said so here:
Sounds like you are contradicting yourself... Plus, no console should only want to appeal to one type of gamer (in this case hard-core) |

BACK IN THE DAY!!!! of the nes and snes, Nintendo was for the young gamers. After they got to a certain age, they trashed their NES or SNES and got a Genesis. Nintendo had the fun, entertaining, endless games which were innovative with high replay value, like Monopoly, Super Mairo Bros. and Baloon Fight. Sega had the great RPGs and grafix which kicked ass at the time. It also had an exceptionally greater amount of violence |

I didn't say it should appeal to one type of gamer. I was just trying to add another opinion to this besides "yay wii." Trying to appeal to everyone isn't always a good idea - for example, stuffing things into a game to get different fans to play it. Like the idea of putting Sora in SSBB to get Square fans to play it - it's just a ploy simply to attract other fans, even though it might seem pretty silly, especially to the people who are ALREADY fans. And don't get me started on Apple and the lawsuit over their name in the first place... That's a whole nother story. Anyway. I personally like a company that tries to appeal to the people who already love it, instead of just trying to attract everyone with whatever they can. |

No. Super Nintendo had Final Fantasy II and III, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, and a few other RPGs that walked all over the Genesis. 49 million Super Nintendo units were sold. 29 million Sega Genesis units were sold. For almost all intents and purposes, the SNES was the better system. |
