I don't see how people can NOT believe in ghosts, really. I mean, anyone who believes in a God, or in any sort of supernatural force should have no problems with ghosts, right? |

In my old house, Me, my sister, and my mom would always see this shadow in the hallway around 2AM. I saw it in the day time once too. Anyway, we never thought much of it. But a few years later, my mom woke up one morning and there was an old man by the bed. He didn't say anything, but she knew what he was thinking, or something like that. Anyway, he "said/thought/whatever" that he knew that we now owned the house and he was leaving. My mom told the neighbors about it, and they said that she described him to a T. And the story that they told us was that he built the house in the 1950's, and after he died, the man that he couldn't stand tricked the family into buying the house. He was the one who eventually sold it to us 20 years later. Anyway,a few years later, a kid that lived down the road crashed his car in our yard, when his mom came over, she asked, "Have you had any visitors?" Which was weird, but she knew that guy's grandson. My dad never believed in that stuff, but last year, he ran into that guys other grandson. He said they rented that house for awhile and his wife kept seeing his grandpa in there. So they moved out. Maybe there is just something in the air here in Ohio that makes us all crazy, but I believe in ghost. I have some other stories, but that's the most important one. Troopa knows some of my others. |

Yea, that's what I think too. :) But once while I was around, 15 or something, I was just staring at the side of my bed, when this white thing sped across my eyes. I shivered and remembered these were possible signs of a ghost. :():(:): |

The only semi-plausible, if very pseudo-science, theory I've heard to support the existence of ghosts is that since in physics energy can't be destroyed (and in chemistry neither can the chemicals), when we die the energy and the chemicals still have to do something. Granted this is kinda ruined when you realize that the chemicals and the chemical energy all returns to Earth after our brains our devoured. |

I believe in ghosts because if you believ in a heaven or hell and god then you should believe in ghosts because ghosts are souls that got lost on their way to heaven or hell. |

If your religious it'd be a reason to not believe be ghosts, well if you're Christian/Catholic. Why? When you die your soul goes to heaven, hell, or purgatory, it leaves this plane. |

I don't know if I believe in ghosts, but judging how I act when I'm alone in a dark room at night, I must believe in them. XD |

IRTT I believe that whatever it is that defines our higher level of consciousness exists after our physical selves has ended. So... yes, I suppose. |

You know, purgatory could BE Earth... it could be complete isolation from this world, and complete isolation from that world. I mean, *I* would feel tortured, being forced to float around the world, seeing people and stuff, and not being able to act on anything or talk to anyone. Which kinda brings the question about whether ghosts can communicate. But, like I was saying, what if Earth is purgatory? Then, if you believe in a religion that includes purgatory, you could easily believe in ghosts as being people paying for thier trip to Heaven. In fact, I read a book basically about that once, where the main character was a ghost, and he was floating around places, but I can't remember the name. I just remember that the guy was stabbed by a guy in a yellow vest in a bathroom. Okay, but I digress. My point is made? |

Isn't purgatory a rather different place than this, kinda pure neutrality, no good exists there, but no evil either? That doesn't sound like Earth. Besides, purgatory doesn't exist to torture, it's where dead babies and anyone else who died before they had a chance to commit any acts that are good or bad go. |

Some people think Purgatory is the place where all souls wait for the Judgement Day, the day we're all judged by God. Some people think judgement happens right when you die. |

I was taught that Purgatory is where you wait to pay for your sins before you enter heaven. Also, neutrality would kinda mean half good and half evil, wouldn't it? Isn't that basically what neutrality is? I'm just trying to give a point. If purgatory is here, as in on Earth, where you have to float around paying for your sins. So, then, if souls can exist in purgatory, and purgatory is here, then can't souls be ghosts? Can't they exist? |
