Eh, you're entitled to your opinion on TP. Only reason I liked OoT more was because of the role music played in it. Actually, I believe Koji Kondo said it wasn't "necessary" or something of the like for TP in an EGM interview. He said he could do it for future projects when it's "necessary." Problem is, it was necessary for TP, maybe even a nice feature for WW. As far as voice acting, I agree. So Zelda should have voice acting. Bigger things like...? Nintendo could stand to truly "revolutionize" Zelda and change the core a bit. Granted, the core "works" but I just can't see myself doing the exact same thing 10 years from now. Zelda II was bad...? I thought you were making the case for how good it was... Anyway, point I was trying to make, is that it was 10 years ago, forgive the angst of people. Way over-exaggerating the sea? Yeah, I suppose I'm exaggerating the time, but it's a fair hyperbole to make my point. Yes, yes it should. Just like some games should be remembered for local multi-player or single player. Don't make the arguement that online is irrelevant. Games like BWii and MoH:H 2 are all games BEGGING for voice chat. Voice chat is required practically nowadays for a good online experience. But again, guess what? No voice chat plans. And don't even compare handheld voice-chat to console... Especially with games like Pokemon and MPH. HAMMER was cancelled to free up room for developers to produce casual games. "Insiders close to development studio NST allege to IGN that the software company's Wii action title, tentatively titled Project H.A.M.M.E.R., has been terminated by publisher Nintendo. Sources further claim that the team formerly working on the title is now underway with one or more efforts that fall into the "expanded audience" lineup of games." Later on, the "rumor" was pretty much confirmed by the IGN crew as being canned to make room for crappy mini-games. Which brings me to my next point... Bad mini-games...we all know that the Warioware franchise is far from anything satisfying beyond an hour or two with it. Maybe the term I'm looking for is casual games. Game like Brain Age, Wii Fit/Play/Sports, Big Brain Academy, Mario Party, and the aforementioned Warioware. Most people wouldn't mind these games in small doses, I know I wouldn't, but cramming the market with them isn't good. And those 3rd party games aren't helping either... Judging by Nintendo's financial success with this (untested and fickle) market, it makes buisness sense to pursue the casual games. All I'm saying is what Miyamoto-san himself said. "Well, I think a lot of people who bought the Wii are not necessarily the types of people who are interested in playing that kind of game. And a lot of the people who would want to play it [due to chronic shortages of the console] can't find a Wii! But mostly, I think it's that there are fewer and fewer people who are interested in playing a big role-playing game like Zelda". |
