Evil Dead Regeneration is a continuation of the classic horror movie series staring Bruce Campell, called the Evil Dead series. The film series, consisting of Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, and Army of Darkness, are known for their mix of humour and horror (the series got increasingly more slapstick based as time went on), and this game tries to keep the humour, although not any horror elements.

Story:
Bruce Campbell is Ashley "Ash" Williams is locked in a mental institution. Mad scientist gets ahold of the Necronomicon, and using it's incantations, plans to rule the world using an undead army. Ash gets free, and kicks ass. He and a Deadite midget named Sam are there to stop him. To further complicate matters, Ash's love interest (and his lawyer) is captured. Ash and Sam have to save the world and this hottie with poor fashion sense.

Controls:
Controls are simple and responsive, although the jump key does seem to be off.

Graphics:
Mediocre, but get the job done. Ash is recreated nicely, little else is.

Audio:
Sounds is passable. The sound effects are nothing special, and what little music there is really adds to the mood. The voice acting is well done, although the script is not the best, there are some gems in the dialogue.

Gameplay:
Pure action, over the top action, with a few minor (and clunky) platforming segments (these make up about 2 minutes of gameplay, 5 if Ash is a *censored* and won't make the jumps, thankfully you suffer no penalty for missing a jump). The fighting is simple, yet strangely enjoyable. You can possess Sam, which is cool, and usually leads to a 30 second gameplay segment which, while always the same, is cool (riding giant Deadites is always fun).

Overall:
You probably need to be a fan to enjoy the game. Although if you can shut off your brain, it'll be fun regardless.
