Mildred Jane Irwin Westmoreland

Angels came to take Mrs. Mildred Jane Irwin Westmoreland, 89, of Buchanan, Ga., home to be with Our Father, His Son Jesus and all those loved ones who had gone before her on Friday, October 30, 2009 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, after suffering a massive stroke on Thursday, October 29.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Cecil M. Westmoreland, sister Carmen Irwin, her parents, two brothers, M.C. Irwin and Eugene Irwin and son-in-law Denny Perry.

Mrs. Westmoreland is survived by daughter, Sandra Perry, two sons, Bennie & wife Wanda Westmoreland and Randy Westmoreland all of Buchanan, eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, one sister Nancy Thomas of Conyers, and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 2 from the chapel of Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel, Buchanan with Rev. Bennie Westmoreland and Rev. Larry Connor officiating. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery beside her husband, Cecil.

Visitation was held Sunday, November 1st from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home.


Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory in charge of arrangements.

Praying for the entire Westmoreland family. Mrs. Mildred was a true saint of God and I smile knowing I will see her again one sweet day.
